  • The James Monroe High School Athletic Mission Statement
Dear Parents/Guardians of Student Athletes, Another new school year is rapidly approaching! August means our fall athletic programs begin, and our students will once again be practicing. One can imagine the whistles blowing, athletes huffing and puffing, officials preparing, and the excitement building as another year of athletics at The James Monroe High School approaches. The attached newsletter is full of important information regarding each fall sport. Please take the time to read and to discuss with your child the athletic options availa- ble and to stress the importance of good sportsmanship. In addition to game schedules and directions to competing schools, the newsletter contains the names of the head coaches and their assistants. We have included their contact information should you have a question that is not addressed in the newsletter. The James Monroe is a member of the Virginia High School League. Starting in the Fall of 2013 the V.H.S.L. has reclassified all member schools into six classes. The James Monroe High School is in the 3A East Classification. At the conclusion of regular season play, our student athletes will compete in Conference 27 which includes the following schools: Brentsville, Culpeper, The James Monroe, Kettle Fun, Manassas Park, and Spotsylvania. We invite each student to be a part of an athletic team. We take pride in creating an enjoyable, yet challenging environment for our student athletes and expect them to present themselves as dedicated athletes who are proud to wear the black and orange. Athletes are expected to excel on the field of play and in the classroom.
