In October 2009, a group from the Retired MP Offi cer “Family” completed their fi fth cruise. The group includes Larry & Claire Brede, Larry & Carolyn Berrong, Jim & Jaye Hallihan and Paul & Peggy Sowa. Missing this year were Dave & Judy Humbert and Nick & Maggie Nicholson. Jim Hallihan reported that the group thus far has cruised Caribbean (both east and west), Alaska, Mississippi River (New Orleans and return) and New England to Nova Scotia

This years’ cruise was on the Princess Cruise Ship Emerald which departed Fort Lauderdale, FL enroute to the eastern Caribbean. The couples visited the Princess Cay, St Thomas Virgin Isles, St Maarten and the Grand Turks. Weather was great, food abundant, friendship wonderful and the “war stories” longer and more vivid.

Several more retired Military Police couples joined the adventure for the fi rst time. The new faces that joined the “hard core gang” were Ron & Judy Alton, Bob & Nancy Barrs, Mike & Pat Sullivan, Tim & Debby Schroeder and special friends, Steve & Cyd Hefner ( USAF retired -honorable MP).

From Top to Bottom: Bob & Nancy Barr, Paul & Peggy Sowa, Larry Brede, Ron & Judi Alton, Tim Schroeder, Claire Brede, Larry Berrong, Jim Hallihan, Debbie Schroeder, Mike Sullivan and Steve Hafner (Air Force & Wackenhut), Carolyn Berrong, Jaye Hallihan, Pat Sullivan and Cyd Hafner

The group attempts to cruise together every two or three years. Jim Halihan said, “We always welcome any new MP cruisers and their friends.” Kudos from the entire group go to Larry & Carolyn Berrong who planned and coordinated this year’s trip. c Page 19 - Retired Military Police Offi cers - Winter 2010
