Our very excited group of students will first fly to Shanghai and then on to Beijing where they will spend the next few days sight-seeing and practicing their Mandarin in Beijing. They will then get on the fast train to Suzhou to spend time with our Sister School. We wish our travellers an enjoyable and safe trip.

Swimming Program

A reminder that the school swimming program starts next week. The program has been designed to meet the individual skill level of all of the students and Mr D will be at the swimming pool to provide encouragement and support to the students and provide any necessary feedback to the pool management. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the swimming program please contact Mrs Dimond or Mr D. Please note that due to the swimming timetable there will be no lunch orders for YEAR ONE STUDENTS during the swimming program!

2017 Planning

With the start of Term Four comes planning for 2017! It is hard to believe that we are already thinking about 2017, how time flies! Whilst staffing and class structure has not been finalised, we do require infor- mation from families about intentions to leave. If your family will be leaving BNPS in 2017, please notify the school office as soon as possible. This allows us to undertake informed planning for class sizes etc.

As many of you would know, a great deal of time and consideration takes place when creating grades for the following year. This term, all children are provided the opportunity to complete a sociogram, identify- ing children they would like to be placed with the following year and we ensure that every child is placed with at least one friend from their sociogram. The teachers then spend a considerable amount of time en- suring that classes are balanced. We ask that you trust in this process and in the knowledge that the teach- ers who have spent the year with your child understand their needs (both academic and social/emotional).

Enrolments for 2017

We would like to encourage families who have a child starting Foundation next year to get their enrolment forms into school as soon as possible, so that planning for 2017 can begin. Also, if you know of any families intending to enrol children at Balwyn North Primary School for next year in other year levels, please encour- age them to come and see us as soon as possible as places are filling fast.

Relay Success Congratulations to all those that participated at the Divisional Athletics day on Wednesday this week. Our relay team of Owen, Aaron, Adam and Lockie, came 2nd in the Divisional 4x100mtr. As a result, they have progressed to the Regional event to be held on Thursday the 13th of October. Best of luck boys!
