Antibiotics are widely used in the treatment of the disease. However, this widespread use of antibiotics causes both antibiotic residues in milks and antibiotic resistance developed in bacteria. Today’s researches are focused on discovering and using new antibiotics against bacteria. Objective: The aim of this work was to discover the antibacterial effects of Hypericum perforatum L. extracts against mastitis pathogens, and its other biological activities. Material and Methods: Kirby-Bauer assay was applied to the extracts. The other antibacterial activity was MIC for plant extracts. The non-enzymatic antioxidant activity was found using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl-hydrate (DPPH). Results: The extract was showed maximum inhibition zone against two bacteria (Coagulase-negative Staphylococci- 33 and 37; CNS 33 and 37), and the zone was 17 mm. A bacterium (CNS – 22) showed the lowest sensitivity to 812.5 µg /mL concentration. In addition, the extract was tried against the stable DPPH for antioxidant activity. Hypericum also displays an ample variety of other biological actions, such as hypotensive, analgesic, anti-infective, anti-oxidant, and spasmolytic abilities. However, recent investigations highlighted that this species could be advantageous for the cure of other pathological situations, such as trigeminal neuralgia, as well as in the treatment of cancer. This review focuses on the in vitro and in vivo antitumor effects of St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum), its derivatives, and other Hypericum species in hematologic malignancies. -

Phänologische und symphänologische Artengruppen von Blütenpflanzen Mitteleuropas - Hartmut Dierschke- Zusammenfassung Mit Hilfe blühphänologischer Merkmale von Waldpflanzen wird die Vegetationsperiode in Phäno- phasen nach phänologischen Artengruppen eingeteilt. Diesen Phasen werden 1577 Blütenpflanzen Mittel- europas, vorwiegend solche mit Hauptverbreitung im planaren bis montanen Bereich, zugeordnet, aufge teilt auf 12 grobe G esellschaftsgruppen (А-M). Hieraus ergeben sich zwei Artenlisten mit phänologischen bzw. symphänologischen Angaben in gesellschaftsspezifischer Gliederung und alphabetischer Reihenfol ge (Anhang 1-2). Für die Gesellschaftsgruppen werden symphänologische Gruppenspektren erstellt und kommentiert. Abstract: Phenological and symphenological species groups of flowering plants of central Europe By means of phenological characteristics (time from beginning to full development of flowering) of forest plant species, 9 phenological groups have been established which characterize phenophases 1-9 of the vegetation period. Afterwards, 1577 plant species of central Europe were classified into these phenolo gical groups, especially those growing in lower to montane areas (i.e. excluding alpine plants). These species belong to 12 groups of plant communities (А-M ; some with subgroups a-b). On this basis two species lists are prepared, one with symphenological groups related to the community groups A- M (appendix 1) and one in alphabetic sequence (appendix 2). Symphenological group spectra were estab lished and are discussed for the community groups. -

H-7624, Pécs Ifjúság u. 6., e-mail: [email protected], [email protected] Bevezetés Az Epipogium aphyllum a magyar orchideaflóra egy igen ritka, mikoheterotróf faja. Pécs közigazgatási területén 2009-ben végzett raszterhálós flóratérképezésünk során, július 5-én a növény egy új, eddig nem ismert lelőhelyére találtunk. A bajuszvirág montán-szubalpin, diszjunkt areájú, eurázsiai elterjedésű faj. Az országban először POLGÁR (1935) találta meg a Bakony északi részén a Cuha völgyben, a legtöbb adata is a Bakonyból származik (BÖLÖNI – KIRÁLY 1997). Előkerült még a Visegrádi-hegységből (KOVÁCS 1957), a Kőszegi-hegységből (BÖLÖNI – KIRÁLY 1997) és az Új magyar füvészkönyvben (MOLNÁR 2009) olvasható elterjedési adatok tanúsága szerint a Bükkből is. A Dél-Dunántúlon csak Baranya megyéből ismert. A Keleti- Mecsekben két helyen találták: Vékény „Mocsola-völgy” (MILLER ap. HORVÁT 1976), Zengővárkony „Réka- völgy” (FARKAS ap. KEVEY 1993, MOLNÁR – FARKAS 1995), míg a Déli-Zselicben csak egy helyen került elő: Kán „Kakukk-völgy” (HŐDÖR 2001). Környékünkön Szlovéniában a Júliai és Kamniki Alpok montán övében, a szubpannon-, dinári-, és szubmediterrán régiókban (RAVNIK 1984), Szerbiában a Rtanj és Beljanica hegyeiben fordul elő (DIKLIĆ 1976). IUCN státusza Magyarországon „CR” (kipusztulással veszélyeztetett) (KIRÁLY 2007), Csehországban „CR” (ČEROVSKÝ 1999), Szlovákiában „EN” (veszélyeztett) (FERÁKOVÁ 2001), Romániában „R” (ritka) (1.), Horvátországban „DD” (adathiányos) (KRANJČEV 2005). Pécsen, a Misinától északra lévő Hideg-völgyben a patak partján leltünk rá egy tő egyetlen hajtására, melyen két virág volt. -

HERBARIUM COLLECTION BY SAVA PETROVIĆ IN THE HERBARIUM OF THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM IN BELGRADE MIROSLAV JOVANOVIĆ Natural History Museum, Njegoševa 51, 11000 Belgrade, Serbia, e-mail: [email protected] The General Herbarium of the Natural History Museum (BEO) includes part of the herbarium material collected by the great Serbian botanist Dr Sava Petrović (1839-1889). Considering the importance of S. Petrović’s work for the botanical science of the 19th century, his herbarium has an important position from both a scientific and a museological standpoint. This herbarium collection has been conserved and inventoried. It was determined that it includes 648 herbarium sheet covers with 629 plant species, and the average age of the museum specimens is around 130 years. Key words: Sava Petrović, Herbarium, Natural History Museum, Belgrade INTRODUCTION The General Herbarium of the Balkan Peninsula at the Natural History Museum in Belgrade (BEO) includes collections of mosses, fungi, lichens and higher plants. The largest collection is the Collection of Higher Plants, 68 JOVANOVIĆ, M.: HERBARIUM COLLECTION BY SAVA PETROVIĆ with over 160,000 herbarium sheet covers and more than 500,000 specimens distributed in 2210 herbarium boxes. In addition to the “A collection” of type material from the treasury of herbarium at the Natural History Museum, the oldest collections prepared by the pioneers of Serbian botany, Dr Josif Pančić and Dr Sava Petrović, must also be mentioned. -

The reviewed collections include: Herbarium of Natural History Museum in Belgrade (BEO), Herbarium of the Institute of Botany and Botanical Garden “Jevremovac”, University of Belgrade (BEOU), and Herbarium of the Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics, Department of Biology and Ecology, University of Niš (HMN). Total number of 1108 herbarium sheets was examined, including 426 specimens stored in BEO, 484 in BEOU and 198 in HMN. The review of revised herbarium data for 18 plant species of the genus represented in the flora of Serbia is presented. Their distribution in Serbia is reconsidered according to obtained herbarium data and shown in the maps. Key words: Hypericum, herbarium material, revision, Serbia, distribution. 94 ZLATKOVIĆ, B. Introduction:- Tarnovski Heights are located in the central part of Northern Bulgaria between the rivers Vesselina and Negovanka. At the Tarnovski Heights we take the Prisovski Ridge, situated beside them. The two geographic sites are included in one protected area of the National Ecological Network of the Republic of Bulgaria, called Tarnovo Heights (with code BG0000213). This gives us reason to consider them together under the name “Tarnovski Heights”.
