(Hong Kong, March 27, 2019) Award-winning Steve Leung Designers (SLD) Founder and mastermind Steve Leung expands his works from architecture and interior design to product design and installation. Leung’s philosophy of "Design without Limits" leads his team in achieving design statements combined with art and technology, launched in March at Art Central in Hong Kong and ISH Frankfurt, world’s leading bathroom design fair.

"Shades in Ascent" light installation co-created with Swarovski Taking centre stage at the main entrance of Art Central, Hong Kong’s premier art fair, SLD Founder Steve Leung presents "Shades in Ascent" an immersive light installation in collaboration with Swarovski from March 27-31 in Central Harbourfront.

“It is a great pleasure to partner with Swarovski, especially launching my first installation at Art Central in my home town of Hong Kong. We share the vision of celebrating the creativity and joy which design and art provide us, and we want everyone to experience the happiness,” said Steve Leung, acclaimed architect, interior and product designer based in Hong Kong.

The light installation, made with 52,800 Swarovski crystal beads, recalls the tranquil dimension of an ancient Oriental village, where infinite floating lanterns bathe the space in light. The ethereal ambience celebrates the beauty of Chinese traditional arts, with a mesmerizing blaze enhanced by a sensual experience.

"Shades in Ascent" is the first project of Leung and Swarovski’s partnership and a prelude to the anticipated lighting collection collaboration with Swarovski Crystal Palace. The collection, inspired by traditional Chinese lanterns, will be launching in March 2020. Leung expressed, “The installation captures the beauty of Chinese culture in an abundant expression of light and reflection. The immersive experience is an emotive modern art interpretation of the lighting collaboration which Swarovski and I are soon to embark on together. I look forward to sharing this cultural enchantment with people from all over the world.”
