Underground Pedestrian Network for Urban Commercial Development in Tsim Sha Tsui of Hong Kong
Available online at www.sciencedirect.com ScienceDirect Procedia Engineering 165 ( 2016 ) 193 – 204 15th International scientific conference “Underground Urbanisation as a Prerequisite for Sustainable Development” Underground pedestrian network for urban commercial development in Tsim Sha Tsui of Hong Kong a, b a a a a Jie He *, John Zacharias , Jia Geng , Yanan Liu , Yushan Huang , Wenhui Ma aSchool of Architecture, Tianjin University, China bCollege of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, Peking University, China Abstract Tsim Sha Tsui is one of the most important CBD areas in Hong Kong. From early 2000s, a new underground pedestrian network was being developed to extend the original Tsim Sha Tsui Metro Station to access a broader scope. This paper introduces statistical analyzes on land use, pedestrian flows, pedestrian trajectories as well as qualitative investigation on planning strategies, urban renewal and real estate development to answer the following research questions: How people use this underground space network as a second level of regional pedestrian system parallel to the surface street network? How this underground pedestrian system distributes people to improve accessibility of commercial land use? How newly-developed large-scale shopping malls directly connected to the underground space distribute pedestrians to the community more efficiently as well as benefit to their own profits? ©© 20162016 Published The Authors. by Elsevier Published Ltd. For Immediate Release Renowned Designer Steve Leung And
For immediate release Renowned Designer Steve Leung and Sanlorenzo Asia Announce Further Partnership 11 March 2019, Hong Kong – Steve Leung Designers (SLD) is delighted to announce a new partnership with Sanlorenzo Asia represented by Simpson Marine. Having previously collaborated for an inspiring Asia infused project for Sanlorenzo SL106 Asia Edition in 2016, the teams are together again with a focus on the new crossover model – the SX88 – introduced by the shipyard at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2017 when the SX88 has forever changed the perspective on how life at sea is enjoyed. SLD joins hands with the most prestigious motoryacht and superyacht builders in the world to create unique yachts for their owners. First in the SX line and currently its flagship is the SX88 representing a successful and clever combination between classic fly bridge yachts and recently expanding Explorer superyachts that Sanlorenzo introduced as first on the market with the superyacht 460EXP and 500EXP currently cruising worldwide. In this collaboration, the designer developed two initial concepts with the main salon becoming one generous open space to emphasize the large window openings of the SX88 and forming the central social hub which transitions seamlessly to the exterior. The visually connected, yet separate, dining area facilitates both a casual and intimate dining experience during daytime and in the evening. The lower deck encompasses an impressive master suite, one VIP Suite and the option to add a twin cabin – various configurations are possible as with all Sanlorenzo Yachts. Two tailored interior design schemes are dedicated for the SX88: the first option ‘Breeze/Zen’ featuring relaxed earthy/blue/emerald green shades to create a sense of immediate serenity. -
