FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Latest Restaurant Designs by SLH of SLD Group Experience the Exotic Thailand and Vintage Shanghai Charm at the Mango Tree and 10 Shanghai in K11 Art Mall, Guangzhou (11 January 2019, Hong Kong) Guangzhou prides itself as a culinary paradise. Since China’s economic reform 40 years ago, the city has developed into a modern metropolis that offers a wide variety of culinary experiences for locals and visitors alike, and housed in K11 Art Mall are two exquisite restaurants, the Mango Tree that serves Thai cuisine and the 10 Shanghai that serves traditional Shanghai dishes. Opened in mid-2018, both restaurants offer superb dining experience with their delicious food and stylish decor. Both designed by SLH (Steve Leung Hospitality), the Mango Tree and 10 Shanghai have become the must-go restaurants at K11, the new shopping and chilling hotspot in Guangzhou. The tantalizing dishes, complemented by the curated designs, create an immersive dining experience for guests that evokes a tropical Thailand feel or nostalgic memories of old Shanghai. The Mango Tree -- An Exotic Thai Getaway in Guangzhou The world-renowned Mango Tree has established itself as a top-notch restaurant brand with its authentic Thai cuisine and impeccable service. Its branches span the globe in cities such as Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, Osaka, and Dubai. The decor of the 5,400-square foot Mango Tree in K11 Guangzhou draws inspirations from tropical rainforests while creating a contemporary style with choice of wood and wallpaper, as well as the exquisite lightings by acclaimed lighting consultant Tino Kwan to provide guests with a relaxing atmosphere of dining in a forest house under a starry sky. SLH designed the Mango Tree with an upscale clientele in mind, starting from the moment guests step into the restaurant. The entrance is adorned with swirl panels, sporting wood on one side and green tropical floral motifs on the other. The panels are displayed at carefully-designed angles to direct guests casually towards a dining area that evokes a tropical feel. The bright and spacious semi-open main dining area features paintings of tropical plants by famous artists. And with the numerous glimmering lights hanging from the ceiling that sprinkled lights onto the rattan chairs and wooden tables, guests would feel like they were dining on a tropical island under the starry night sky. The right side of the restaurant is the bar area set against a taupe wood wall, with grey bar tops and leather high chairs where guests can enjoy drinks overlooking the city and sunset through floor-to-ceiling windows. The Mango Tree also provides a patio surrounded by greenery where guests can chill and dine outdoors. SLH mixes modern ingenious design with Thai elements to create a unique charm of Thailand that offers guests a relaxing and natural ambience to enjoy with friends. The 10 Shanghai -- Where Old Shanghai Meets New Guangzhou Adjacent to the Mango Tree is the 10 Shanghai where modern decor is used to conjure up an elegant old Shanghai charm. Guests can enjoy traditional Huai Yang dishes in a quaint and refined environment. The designer created this elegant old Shanghai restaurant with a stroke of modernity and refined materials. The design of the entrance was inspired by Shikumen, or otherwise known as lane houses. The reception desk on the right resembles an antique shop counter, welcoming guests in a classy and sophisticated style. As guests walk past layers of grey tile walls, they are greeted with glass picture screens and translucent screens with wooden patchwork that permeate a feel of old Shanghai lanes. The designer used green flannel dining chairs with metallic legs and black seat cushions and matching houndstooth fabric sofas to complement the wooden dining table with metallic legs and recreate a retro yet stylish atmosphere. With just 3,800 square feet to work with, the design of 10 Shanghai posed a challenge. By using glass panels to subtly divide dining zones, not only does it save space but it also infuses a vintage charm of the Bund with a poetic touch. And to maximize the use of the limited space, most of the chairs and tables can be flexibly positioned to provide comfortable dining spaces. On the other side of the restaurant is the semi-open kitchen, framed by walnut-veneered wall, where guests can watch the creation of Shanghai delicacies. All SLH restaurant designs are based on the philosophy of its founder, Steve Leung, which takes into account the needs of diners, servers, and owners from multiple perspectives and balance business and operational considerations as well as user experience. SLH design focuses on spatial and flow planning, lighting, furnishing, and choice of materials to create unique dining experiences and maximize operational efficiency. - End – Photo Caption: Image 1 and 2: The entrance to the restaurant is adorned with decorative panels with wood on one side and green tropical floral motifs on the other.
