Hello to All: It was a grand day a Tuscora Park on Tuesday, August 22 at the Annual Picnic in the Park. We served 660 delicious hotdogs in 15 minutes! There was music by Jay Secrest, hours of bingo, lots of door prizes, cornhole and rides on the merry-go-round. I would like to thank our committee, volunteers at the event, Senior Center kitchen staff, Tuscora Park employees and a big than you to the Weather Goddess Summer fun at the 2017 Picnic in the Park who blew the dark clouds away and kept us dry! DONATIONS FOR THE TUSCARAWAS HUMANE SHELTER: One of the many ways you can help the Tuscarawas County Humane Society provide care for their rescued animals is to donate essential items for the day-to-day operations of the shelter. From paper towels to dog treats. Donations of “New” items needed: Purina Dry Dog/Cat Food, Wet Cat Food, Scoopable Cat Litter, Dog/Cat Treats, Paper Towels, Laundry Detergent, Dish Soap, Antibacterial Hand Soap, Garbage Bags (40-60 gal.), Toys, Leashes, Collars, Blankets and Towels. We will have a fabulous Land and & Sea Luncheon: Tenderloin medallions topped with shrimp scampi atop a bed of rice pilaf, green bean almandine, plated salad and tiramisu for dessert! Numerous door-prizes and a 50/50. Help us congratulate this year’s Senior Citizen Hall of Fame Award recipients. Proceeds from the event go toward the Support Our Seniors Program which helps senior citizens in need. Tickets: $10.00. Limited number of tickets available. UNION HOSPITAL “TOWN HALL MEETING”: Wednesday, November 1, 12:15 p.m. After lunch, stop by the social room and meet Bruce James, President and CEO of Union Hospital and his special guest speaker. Speaker to be announced at a later date. Microsoft Word: Monday & Tuesday, October 9 & 10, 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. Learn how to set up a letter, make columns, make basic address labels, insert photos or clip art and much more. Cost: $20.00

November Beginning Computer: Monday, November 6 - Friday, November 10, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Learn how to turn the computer on and off; get into programs and use them correctly; search the internet; create, read, send emails; and much more. Bring laptops if that’s what you are using. Cost: $50

Cell Phones: Monday & Tuesday, November 6 & 7, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Email, texting and pictures, are a few things that we will cover in this class. Cost: $20.00 December Beyond Windows 10: Monday, December 4 - Friday, December 8, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. If you want to know more about Windows 10 and need help with the various aspects, this is the class. Explore the advanced features of this new system and the tips and tricks to get around. Cost: $50.00

Tablets: Monday & Tuesday, December 4 & 5, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. This is the class for you if you own a Kindle, Samsung, Nextbook, IPad or other tablet. Learn how to use it. Cost: $20.00

Computer Help Group A computer club for those who would like to share and network with others about their experiences on the computer. Bingo: Monday mornings at 10:00. Each player pays $2.00 to play every week. Prizes will be provided by Schoenbrunn Healthcare, Claymont Retirement and Rehabilitation, Country Club and Crossroads Hospice.

LCR: Every Friday & the fifth Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. Each player pays $1 to play. We are playing with Bingo chips, but the winner will take home the pot! If you can roll the dice, you can play this game!

Bunco: Thursdays at 12:00 p.m. Cost is $1.00. (Payable day of game, prizes will be given). If you can roll dice you can play Bunco. This is an old pub game that only requires dice.

Car Races: Wednesdays, October 4, November 1 and December 6 at 10:30 a.m. It’s the first Wednesday of the month. We brought this game out of retirement. Come bet on your favorite car. The winner will take all!

Mahjong: Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. Please join us in the Myron Phillips Banquet Center for Mahjong! We are looking for new members! Cost: No charge.

Price is Right: Wednesdays, October 11, November 8 and December 13 at 10:30 a.m. The second Wednesday of the month means it’s time to play Price is Right. It’s just like on TV, only better! Come and give us your best guess on different household products. The closest guess without going over will win the prize!

Wednesdays, October 18, November 15 and December 20 at 10:30 a.m. The third Wednesday of the month means it’s time to play Wheel of Fortune! Each person is given a chance to guess the word on the board. Someone will be the grand prize winner- maybe it’s you!

Mystery Game: Wednesday, October 25, November 22 and December 27 at 10:30 a.m. Who knows what game we will chose on these dates. Games could be anything from LCR to trivia, but no matter what, we can guarantee you will have fun!

Ping Pong: Every Wednesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. Join others in the walking track area for a fun-filled morning of friendly competition!

Pool Table: The table is now located in the walking track area. Join others as they play tournaments throughout the week. Check that area for details on days and times.
