The Book of Life is first mentioned in scripture in Exodus 32:32-33. It is also mentioned in Psalm 69:28; Daniel 12:1; Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:5; Revelation 13:8; Revelation 17:8; Revelation 20:12,15; Revelation 21:27; Revelation 22:19.
Exodus 32 describes the event of Israel’s fashioning and worshipping of the idolatrous golden calf while Moses was upon Mount Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments from God. For now, let’s pick up the story in Exodus 32:30-33, which includes Exodus 32:32, the first mention in scripture of the Book of Life.
Exodus 32:30-33 (KJV) And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin. 31 And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of Depiction of Moses gold. before the Lord on Mt.
