RULES and GUIDELINES

Payments: Individual team full payment must be received to participate.

Games: 3 games guaranteed (unless otherwise stated at signup). There will be no overtime in the preliminary games. Two teams in each division will advance to the Championship Game. ******* If team plays 4 games in preliminary due to number of teams entered their first game will not count toward standings. However if head to head tie breaker is applied game will count to decide who advances.

Games will be run in accordance with USA Hockey Rules. All teams must be ready to play 20 minutes prior to listed game time.

All divisions will play (3) 12 minute stop time periods. Running time will commence only if and when a team has a 6 goal lead after the 1st period.

One (1) 30 second time out is permitted per team per game.

Body checking is allowed at the Bantam levels only.

Penalties: Minor = 1.5 minutes Game Misconduct = Ejection plus 1 game suspension Major = 3 minutes Game Misconduct 2nd offense = Tournament ejection Misconduct = 7.0 minutes Fighting = ejection plus 1 game suspension

Point System: Win = 2 points Loss = 0 points Tie = 1 point

Playoff : Two (2) teams per Division/Level will advance to the Championship Game.

Playoff Tiebreaker: Determined by (1) head-to-head, (2) least goals against, (3) most goals for, (4) fewest total penalty minutes, and (5) coin toss.

Playoff Overtime: One 5 minute period of 4-on-4. First team to score wins. If no score during 4-on-4, a shoot out will determine winner. Each team will choose 3 players who will each take a shot on the opposing goalie and the team with the highest score wins. If tied then shoot out will continue extra rounds until a team scores.

Eligibility: All individuals and teams must be registered through USA Hockey. All players must appear on their team’s submitted registered USA Hockey roster. If a team borrows a player to fill out their roster, that player must be registered with the same youth hockey program on a lower level team.

Protest/Grievance: Must be directed to the WYH Board of Directors and received in writing within 2 hours of the protested occurrence. Your protest will be acted upon as expediently as possible and you will be notified of a decision within the same day.

Daily Sign: Every coach must check in prior to the start of each game. Please make every effort to have your team at the arena 40 minutes prior to schedules games.

Awards/Mementos: One team trophy and individual medals will be awarded to the championship game winner in each division. 2nd place teams will receive individual medals.
