Hike Wachusett Mountain with your fellows in recovery (Event is in its 10 th Consecutive Year)

WHEN: Saturday, May 21, 2016* * Rain Date is Sunday, May 22, 2016. A notice will be published on NEI’s web site at http://www.slaanei.org if the hiking event is changed to May 22 th (due to rain on May 21th). This information will also be available by calling NEI’s answering service at 617-625-7961.

WHAT: We will hike up Mount Wachusett, take time for lunch at the mountain top and have a getting current meeting. We will then hike down & return to the visitor center by about 3:00PM. Previous hiking skills are not required.

WHERE TO MEET: • 10:45AM Visitor Center at Wachusett Mountain State Reservation, Mountain Road, Princeton, MA 01541 OR • 9:15AM If you need a ride, can offer a ride, or would like to meet at Riverside Train Station “Greenline D” to carpool together, please call 617-625-7961 and leave a message for Kim by May 18th , or contact her via email at [email protected] . Cars will be leaving Riverside at 9:30AM sharp. (* The carpool on the Rain Date of depends whether someone is willing to drive from Riverside on Sunday, May 22. )

WHAT TO BRING: • Comfortable sturdy shoes • Blanket (optional) to sit on for meeting or sneakers at top • Bottles of water • Layered comfortable clothing is • Lunch suggested. • Jacket

Directions to Wachusett Mountain State Reservation Mountain Road, Princeton, MA 01541

From Route 2*: Rt. 2 to Exit 25 (Rt. 140 south). Follow Rt. 140 south for 2 miles. Turn Right onto Mile Hill Road. Follow Mile Hill Road for 1/2 mile to split in road. Take Left Fork onto Mountain Road. Follow Mountain Road 1 1/4 miles to top of hill. Reservation entrance is on the Right. Visitor center entrance is immediately on the Left after entering Reservation.

From Route 190: Rt. 190 to Exit 5 (Rt. 140). Follow Rt. 140 north for 9 1/2 miles. Turn Left onto Mile Hill Road. Follow Mile Hill Road for 1/2 mile to split in road. Take Left Fork onto Mountain Road. Follow Mountain Road 1 1/4 miles to top of hill. Reservation entrance is on the Right. Visitor center entrance is immediately on the Left after entering Reservation.

Alternate Route from Route 190: Rt. 190 to Exit 5 (Rt. 140). Follow Rt. 140 north for 2 1/4 miles. Turn Left onto Rt. 62 west. Follow Rt. 62 west for 4 miles to Princeton Center. Turn Right onto Mountain Road. Follow Mountain Road for 3 1/4 miles. Reservation Entrance is on the Left. Visitor center entrance is immediately on the Left after entering Reservation.

* Route 2 is accessible by taking Route 128 (US 95) North or South to Exit 29B (Route 2 West).

Meeting location is 10:45AM at Wachusett Mountain State Reservation Visitor Center . Look for signs for New England Intergroup (NEI).

Directions to Riverside M.B.T.A. Train Station Grove Street, Newton, MA 02462 (Off Route 128) For those meeting at Riverside Train Station, please arrive no later than 9:15AM. Cars will be leaving at 9:30AM sharp.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Take M.B.T.A. Green Line D to Riverside Train station in Newton.

FROM THE EAST (BOSTON): Take the I-90 Mass Turnpike West. Take Exit 14 onto I-95 South. Take Exit 22 Grove Street. Pass the Holiday Inn (on left) and the Riverside T station entrance will be on your left.

FROM THE NORTH: Take Rt. 128 (US 95) South to the RT-16 W exit- EXIT 22-21B- toward GROVE ST. / WELLESLEY. Take the GROVE ST. exit- EXIT 22- toward M.B.T.A. Station. Keep RIGHT at the fork to go on GROVE ST. Pass the Holiday Inn (on left) and the Riverside T station entrance will be on your left.

FROM THE SOUTH: From Cape Cod or other points south, take Route 3 North. Take left fork onto I-93 South toward Dedham. Continue on I-95 North. Take Exit 22 Grove Street. Go right at end of ramp and you will pass the Holiday Inn. The entrance to Riverside Station will be a short distance on the left.

FROM THE WEST: Take the I-90 Mass Turnpike East. Take Exit 15 onto I-95 South. Take Exit 22 Grove Street. Pass the Holiday Inn (on left) and the Riverside T station entrance will be on your left.

Look for signs for New England Intergroup (NEI) at Riverside M.B.T.A. Train Station.
