SUNY Polytechnic Institute Albany, NY/Utica, NY Chief Operating Officer and Chief of Staff (August 2017-Present) Responsible for the overall development and coordination of fiscal and organizational strategy during massive transformation at the institution. Responsible for oversight and management of the following divisions and departments within the institution: • External Relations • Office of the President • Human Resources • Information Technology • Campus Safety • Facilities

Vice President of External Relations and Chief of Staff (December 2016 – July 2017) Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic and tactical efforts of the overarching policy and communications goals of SUNY Poly. The Chief of Staff coordinates the work of the Office of the President and serves as the point of contact for constituent groups served by the University. External Relations includes management and oversight of: • Office of Government and Community Relations; • Office of Communications and Marketing; • Office of Special Events; and • SUNY Polytechnic Institute Foundation.

Florida State University Washington, DC Director of Federal Relations (October 2014 – December 2016) Represented the research and legislative priorities of Florida State University before the federal government, including federal agencies and Congress, as well as to the university community. Responsibilities included: • Planning and implementing a comprehensive agenda for federal level engagement, including establishing a DC-based federal relations operation; • Developing university positions on all relevant legislation for presentation and discussion with the Florida delegation; • Interacting with federal research and development agencies to identify funding opportunities; and • Collaborating with faculty and researchers to develop and maintain federal support for research initiatives.

State University of Albany, NY/Washington, DC Director of Federal Relations (July 2011 – September 2014) Represented the interests of the University System and its 64 SUNY campuses before Congress and the federal government, and SUNY's response to federal legislation, fiscal matters, and policies of interest to SUNY. Responsibilities included: • Overseeing the strategic planning for SUNY Office of Federal Relations and its DC operations; • Representing the SUNY system and its campuses with the White House, Capitol Hill and with federal agencies; • Consulting, informing, and guiding university administrators, faculty, and students in responding to government programs, policies, and political activities; • Establishing and maintaining ongoing relations with legislative offices and university administrators; and • Working with national higher education organizations and other university representatives to advance collective goals and priorities.

Binghamton University, State University of New York Binghamton, NY Director of Federal Relations (October 2006 – September 2014) Cultivated and sustained relationships with administrators and faculty, federal legislators and their staffs, and business and community leaders to advance the university’s mission and priorities. Responsibilities included: • Developing, implementing, and communicating strategy for advocacy of university-wide priorities, legislation, and funding opportunities; • Educating university administrators, faculty, and staff on federal legislation and activities, and policies, procedures, and guidelines regarding federal lobbying; and • Analyzing legislation that affects academic programs, research, and funding.

Metropolitan Development Association of Syracuse, NY Director of Special Projects (June 2005 – September 2006) Economic Development Coordinator (June 2004 – June 2005) Developed and implemented projects for the Essential New York Initiative®, a strategic roadmap for economic development in Central Upstate New York. Projects included: • EssentialConnections.org – an online resource that encouraged collaboration and innovation for technology-based industries; • Project-ION – a summer internship program targeting over 130,000 college students; • Central Upstate Regional Alliance – a collaboration that identified cooperative issues, branded an identity, and fostered a cooperative consciousness; and • Creative Core Business Plan Competition – a $100,000 business plan competition

Executive Director, New York State Urban Council (June 2004 – September 2006) Managed a Metropolitan Development Association of Central New York affiliated, statewide not-for-profit with over 400 members focused on revitalizing downtown cores. Duties included: • Developing an information clearinghouse for members to share knowledge, experiences, and challenges; • Grant writing and compliance; • Conducting technical site visits and outreach to internal and external stakeholders; and • Developing a legislative policy agenda favorable to downtown development.

California State University Washington, DC Federal Relations Assistant and Policy Analyst (September 2002 – May 2004) Analyzed federal policies affecting the CSU system, helped cultivate the CSU federal agenda, lobbied for federal appropriations, and represented the CSU on relevant legislative issues. Other responsibilities included: • Scheduling meetings for CSU officials with federal legislative delegation and agencies; • Developing content for an e-newsletter and webpage; and • Managing the office’s databases, compliance, and budget.
