Stebbins Data to 1972 Copy N0/J8 ARE:LL PRINTERS LANCASTER, CALIF. U.S..A. DEDICATION These days of super Science and 1nans wild adventUi"e into space are not more perilous than those faced by the men who ca1uc to our rugged, hard, visaged, shores in the days of early adventure into the An1erican continent. Cold and barren, this inhospitable land with native foes, illness, hunger and strife, called for l>rave men to face a challenge as of great a magnitude as that required to sail above our earthly sphere. Asleep n«;>w in the quiet shade of a tree that overhangs an old /ave are those that <!onquen~d this land and left to us a heritage of peace and co1nfort. Ungrateful soul I would bP, if in 1ny crowded life, I find, no time to reflect and thank God for those who came before, to clear the path we no,\T so easily enjoy. THIS BOOK IS DEDICATED TO OUR ANCESTORS who in their t'ternal sleep repose, so often forgotten by descendants, but never by God. LEST WE FORGET, LEST WE FORGET Let us keep thei,r metnory bright. John Alfred Stebbins The Arthor 6501 * the grave of Rowland Stebbins What's in a name? This question is often asked by persons that care not to live up to the standards of those that have borne the na1ne for over a thousand years without a single deed to tarnish it's honor.
