Sejarah Indonesia Masa Hindu Budha
DIKTAT KULIAH SEJARAH INDONESIA MASA HINDU BUDHA Oleh: Sudrajat, M. Pd. 197305242006041002 JURUSAN PENDIDIKAN SEJARAH FAKULTAS ILMU SOSIAL UNIVERSITAS NEGERI YOGYAKARTA 2012 [email protected]. -

1 Balinese Hinduism: Religion, Politics, and Multiculturalism1 I Ketut Ardhana2 Widya Kerthi Foundation <[email protected]> Abstract Bali is the last Hindu mosaic in Southeast Asia. The Balinese Hindu culture has been rooted in the island for a long period of time and has already successfully adopted and adapted to aspects of foreign cultures, such as other religions in order to be able to live side by side in the context of a multicultural society. The existence of Balinese culture has long been a topic of discussion, particularly since the local culture has been influenced by the impacts of globalization. Thus, this paper seeks to address some pertinent questions. Firstly, what kinds of social, cultural, and political atmospheres did the Balinese absorb from foreign influences? Secondly, how can we understand the impacts of globalization in Bali which occurred parallel to the arrival of Islam, Europeans, and the recent development of the tourism industry? Thirdly, how can we understand the existence of the Balinese culture in the context of the dominant or hegemonic culture of Islam? What kinds of strategies need to be introduced so that the Balinese, as a creative minority, can contribute to national and global interest? It is expected that this paper will provide a better understanding regarding Balinese Hindu culture in the modern and postmodern time. Key words: Balinese Hindu culture, creative minority, hegemonic culture, multiculturalism I. Introduction In the last two decades, particularly after the Reformation period began in 1998, Indonesia has faced many challenges in order to be a democratic society in a modern world. -

Pemerintahan Keluarga Warmadewa Di Bali Serta Hubungannya Dengan Jawa Timur Oleh :Ida Bagus Sapta Jaya, S.S.M.Si
1 Pemerintahan Keluarga Warmadewa di Bali Serta Hubungannya Dengan Jawa Timur Oleh :Ida Bagus Sapta Jaya, S.S.M.Si NIP. 197410042002121001 Jurusan Arkeologi Fakultas Sastra Universitas Udayana Dipublikasikan dalam Buku Pusaka Budaya Dan Nilai-nilai Religiusitas, Editor : I Ketut Setiawan, Seri Penerbitan Ilmiah Jurusan Arkeologi Fakultas Sastra Universitas Udayana Denpasar, 2008. Hal 138-161. -

International Journal of Interreligious and Intercultural Studies (IJIIS) ISSN: 2654-2706, Volume I, Number 1, October 2018 FEMALE DEITIES IN BALINESE SOCIETY: LOCAL GENIOUS, INDIAN INFLUENCES, AND THEIR WORSHIP I Ketut Ardhana Faculty of Cultural Science, Universitas Udayana Universitas Hindu Indonesia (UNHI), Denpasar-Bali < [email protected]> Abstract One of the main issues that has been discussed in Indonesia regarding the democracy process in a modern world is about the feminism and gender issues. On the one hand, women are con- sidered to play limited roles, whilst on the other hand, the men have always been considered to play a signi›cant role. This can be traced back in the long process of the Balinese history not only in terms of political aspect, but also in the context of socio cultural aspects. It is important to look at what has happened in the Balinese societies, since Bali is known as a Hindu mozaic in Southeast Asia. The Balinese society has its own culture based on local culture that is strongly infiuenced by the Indian or Indic culture. The Balinese society is a patrilineal system, in which a man has a higher position, but in fact it was even Bali had a woman princess, who was of mixed Javanese and Balinese heritage, a wife of King Udayana of Bali between the 10th and 11th century. Both of them were considered as the Balinese kings at the same time. In the era of these two kings they were successful in integrating between Hinduism and Buddhism. Until now, the Balinese believe the soul of Mahendradatta as Durga. -
