What is the Cardiff City Stadium like? Opened earlier this century, the Cardiff City Stadium is completely enclosed with all four corners having spectator seating.

Named after their former ground, the Stand is the most iconic of the four. Boasting three tiers and a striking roof as well as clear windshields either side, it closely resembles the East Stand at .

Up to 1,800 away fans are housed on one side of the Grange Stand and the corner of the Ninian Park Stand, where you can enjoy good acoustics and facilities. Food on offer includes a range of pies, as well as hot dogs and cheeseburgers.

Directions Leaving the M4 at Junction 33, take the A4232 towards Cardiff/Barry. Thereon, leave the dual carriageway at the B4267 exit and, at the end of the slip road, turn left at the roundabout (signposted Cardiff International Athletics Stadium). Continue down this road and the stadium is on the right.

Car parking You will need to be vigilant if parking on the nearby retail estate as you may only leave your vehicle there for 90 minutes, while traffic wardens tend to be out in force.

Adjacent to turnstile seven, there is a recommended fenced-off area next to HSS Hire, where it will cost £10 to leave your vehicle. However, due to its small stature, be sure to arrive early.

Alternatively, you could try the nearby Gol Centre, although you are likely to experience a lengthy getaway due to the venue being located at the bottom of a cul- de-sac off the main road.

By train Served by trains from Cardiff Central, Ninian Park Halt Station is just a five-minute walk from the Cardiff City Stadium. The journey to here from takes just over an hour.

Pubs for away fans Most pubs within the vicinity of the stadium are for home fans only and should be avoided.

However, on Lawrenny Avenue, the Gol Centre and Canton Rugby Football Club are recommended alternatives. Also, there are many options in the city centre including the Pontcanna Inn on Cathedral Road.

Hotels The Wynford Hotel and Cathedral 73 are within a mile of the Cardiff City Stadium, as are the Pontcanna Inn and Holiday Inn Cardiff City. Alternatively, there are plenty of options in the city centre including chains of Clayton, Hilton, Marriott and Radisson Blu.
