Mittlerweile sind die beiden, in der letzten Liste angekündigten, neuen Kink Records Releases erschienen und ihr könnte die Years of Decay / Sand Creek Massacre – Split LP und die Hellborn Messiah / Post War Depression – Split LP hier erwerben. Für den weiteren Verlauf des Jahres sind noch einige weitere Veröffentlichungen geplant - als nächstes wird wohl die Tape-Version des Demos von Life Ends (http://www.myspace.com/lifeendsgrindcore) erscheinen. Weiterhin geplant ist die Debüt 7" von The Rätz (http://www.myspace.com/1234theratz) zusammen mit That Lux Good Records und die Debüt 7" von SLUMP (http://www.myspace.com/slumpgrind) zusammen mit Vulgar Records. Vom SLUMP Demo-Tape habe ich noch ein paar wenige Exemplare hier, ebenso von der Lipkick 7". Um das alles realisieren zu können, hoffe ich auf eure Bestellungen ... Capitalist Casualties / Lack of Interest – Split 7". Da das Verschicken der Liste durch die immer größer werdende Anzahl an EmpfägerInnen auch immer teurer wird, habe ich mich entschieden in Zukunft alle Leute, von denen ich seit 3 Listen nichts mehr gehört habe, aus dem Verteiler zu entfernen. Die betreffende Person werde ich durch eine kurze Nachricht in der letzten Liste darauf aufmerksam machen. Um doch nicht aus dem Verteiler geschmissen zu werden reicht es aus mir kurz Bescheid zu geben, dass auch weiterhin Interesse an der Liste besteht. Außerdem wäre es auch nett wenn ihr mir bei einem Umzug rechtzeitig die neue Adresse mitteilt, damit ich diese aktualisieren kann und nicht unnütz eine Mailorder-Liste an die nicht mehr aktuelle Adresse schicke. love music - hate fascism Ralf Portopreise: Generell verschicke ich die Bestellung als versichertes Paket und erhebe dafür eine Versandkostenpauschale von 4,- Euro. Die Porto-Kosten für Nachnahme sind wesentlich höher (sobald eine LP dabei ist, kostet das Ganze 11,- Euro Porto), daher empfehle ich die Zahlungsart „Vorkasse“. Die oben genannten Porto-Preise gelten innerhalb Deutschlands. Für Bestellungen ins Ausland bitte vorher nach den Porto-Preisen fragen. Weiteres zur Bestellung: Bestellen könnt ihr generell nur per Vorkasse oder per Nachnahme. Bei Vorkasse einfach den Betrag auf das Konto überweisen, das ihr am Ende von jeder Seite findet (als Betreff euren Namen angeben), oder den Betrag in einem Brief an mich schicken (eigenes Risiko - am besten versichert). Bei Nachnahme die Bestellung durchgeben und dann bekommt ihr das Zeugs zugeschickt und müsst beim Postboten bezahlen. Wie weiter oben bereits erwähnt kann ich wegen den teuren Preisen von Nachnahme-Bestellungen nur abraten. Solide Kost von der Insel, reinhören lohnt. 2:20 - God natt til alle barna (7") 3,50 Nach der guten LP jetzt eine fantastische Single der Norweger. Hier ist der Sänger von Captain not Responsible (erinnert sich noch jemand an die?) am Mikrofon und auch der Rest der Band besteht aus alten Hasen, die wahnsinnig guten, klassisch melodischen Norwegen-Hardcore produzieren. Life but how to live it, Captain not Responsible und auch So much hate stehen Pate und wer den ganzen alten Norwegen-Kram nicht kennt, stellt sich Funeral Oration im Proberaum mit Leatherface vor. Egal wie, klingt auf jeden Fall saugut, hat prima Texte und ist eine fette Empfehlung! 2:20 - s/t (LP) 8,- Erste Veröffentlichung dieser noch recht neuen Band aus Oslo mit Leuten von Life ... but how to live it und Captain not responsible. Musikalisch macht die Band eine schnelle und trotzdem verdammt melodische Mischung aus Hardcore und Punk-Rock. Sehr geile Band, die man unbedingt mal antesten sollte. A Bit Of Braindead - Totally wrecked (7") 3,50 A Bit Of Braindead kommen aus Berlin und sind quasi die Fastcore-Thrashpunk-Antwort auf Manowar, zumindest in Sachen Obenohne-Körperkult. Die Hauptstädtler legen hier ihre Debut-7" vor und was serviert werden 7 flotte Hardcore-Punk-Nummern, die mich wahrscheinlich gerade wegen des Sprech- Schrei-Gesangdingens des öfteren an die Kollegen von Vitamin X erinnern, das Gitarrengefrickel tut da sein übriges. Hier gibt es jede Menge Stop’n’Go, viel Rotz, viel Geschrei, viel zu Sagen, viel Flitzefinger und einfach viel von allem, was ne satte Hardcore-Inklusive-Thrash-Fast-Punk-Platte ausmacht. A Fora De Arrastu / Feccia Tricolore - Split (CD) 6,- A Fora De Arrastu kommen aus Sardinien und spielen Hardcore-Punk mit Rock'n'Roll-Einschlag. Ihr Split-Partner Feccia Tricolore kommen aus Silizien machen eher metallisch angehauchten NYHC der Marke Agnostic Front. Beide haben politische Texte, die im Booklet auch auf englisch abgedruckt sind. A Wilhelm Scream - Career Suicide (LP) -8 Neuester Longplayer dieser Band aus Massachusetts. Wie gewohnt gibts von A Wilhelm Scream eine gelungene Mischung aus Skate-Punk-Rock, Hardcore und Emocore. Musikalisch erinnert das Ganze teilweise stark an Propagandhi. Kommt in farbigem Vinyl! A.N.S. / Seasick - Split (7") 3,50 ANS sind schon durch ihre LP äusserst bekannt und beliebt. Auch hier spielen sie ihren depressiven HC zwischen Black Flag und Skatecore, und das machen sie gut. Und auch auf Seasick klebt das gleiche Etikett wie auf ANS - 80er Jahre HC - sie liefern hier aber das genaue Gegenstück zu ANS ab: ihre Songs sind zwar meist im schnellen Punk-tempo, also nicht eben nah an der Schallgeschwindigkeitsgrenze, wirken aber wie kurze, präzise Schläge auf ein empfindliches Körperteil deiner Wahl. Kurze Songs, kurze, reflektierte und sehr überzeugende Texte. Bei ANS: Musik und Texte depressiv und in die Länge gehend. Die zwei Bands ergänzen sich perfekt. Aberrant / Nicaraguan Death Squad – Split (7”) 3,- Beide Bands spielen schnellen und brutalen Grindcore mit einigen Metal-Einflüssen. Die Single ist übrigens limitiert auf 666 Exemplare. Absorbor - Schlagbohrkopf (7”) 3,- Stulle ausse Tasche kramen, schön Tee eingießen, die Bild aufschlagen, Mettbrötchen salzen und Absorbor auflegen. Die Platte erzählt in 10 Akten die alltäglichen Geschichten der Baubranche. Architektenjuppies hat man gefälligst zu hassen, die üppigen Seite 1 Damen der Boulevardpresse muss man lieben und wenn man mal Dampf ablassen muss, packt man eben den Presslufthammer aussa Täsch aufn Tisch. Fazit: Punk Punk Punk ohne Luft zu holen, wahnsinnig lustig und tanzbar! Vorallem bei der Arbeit aufm Bau und nem Alkoholpegel von mindestens 2.0. Accion Mutante - Fear (7”) 3,- Wütender, politischer Punk mit Metal-Einflüssen. Sehr abwechslungsreich und wie bei Skuld Releases gewohnt mit geiler Aufmachung. Accion Mutante – Y No hai remedio (7”) 3,- Ihre zweite 5-Song EP. Wie gewohnt wütender, politischer Hardcore-Punk. Nach einigen Besetzungswechseln geht es hier sogar etwas in die Black-Metal- Richtung, aber nach wie vor überwiegen die Punk/Crust Elemente. Across the Border - Rare & unreleased songs (7”) 3,- Die beste und beliebteste Folk-Punk-Band veröffentlicht zu ihrem 10jährigen Bandjubiläum eine Single mit alten und unveröffentlichten Hits. 5 Songs aus den Jahren 91 bis 93. Klasse Musik, tolle Texte, schöne Aufmachung, ATB sind einfach nur fantastisch! Active Minds - It's perfectly obvious that this system doesn't work (LP) 8,- Neues Album des nimmermüden britischen Anarcho-Duos. Geiler HC/Punk, irgendwo zwischen Crass, Restarts und Disrupt mit wütenden, politischen Texten. LP kommt inkl. umfangreichem Booklet mit den kompletten Songtexten sowie liner-notes dazu. Actress – Glacier (LP) 8,- Hier gibts das gesammelte Werk der Wiesbadener. Zu hören gibts auf "Glacier" grindiges, schnelles und aggressives Zeug, welches durchaus an Bands wie Converge oder Botch erinnert. I also be- lieve hardcore has a lot to do with the people I met in the last 22 years who were apart of the scene - they weren’t everyday people. Besides hardcore being music, it was a place to get away from the normal world! Charles Maggio (Rorschach, Gern Blandsten Records) on hardcore: John Brannon said it best: hardcore is the “blues of the suburbs.” QUICKsaND Walter Schreifels (Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits) on fighting/ disagreements in hardcore: In the scene there were homeless people all around us and a lot of fighting going on. There was the whole punks versus skins thing. There was that back drop, so it was a pretty obvious place to say something about it, and it’s cool to have a scene that allows for that discussion. That’s what gives it power in a way. The hardcore scene is like high school. There’s the typical bullshit that goes on everywhere, but it’s cooler because it’s like a musical high school and there’s something kind of romantic about that. There was also a lot of back and forth between hip- hop and hardcore at the time, too. There was a time when there was a lot of racism but there was a whole backlash against that.

This course situates the activity of listening to punk music in its broader cultural ideologies, such as the DIY (do-it-yourself) ideal, which includes nontraditional musical pedagogy and composition, cooperatively owned performance venues, and underground distribution and circulation practices. Students learn to analyze punk subculture as an alternative social formation and how punk productions confront and are times co-opted by capitalistic logic and normative economic, political and social arrangements. 3. In übermenschlichen Anstrengungen haben wir auch dieses info im Jänner fertiggebracht um euch einen Überblick zu verschaffen, was im ersten Teil des Jahres 2006 so läuft. Die Grazer REDLIGHTSFLASH eröffnen zusammen mit VOLT und YOU KNOW den Konzertreigen, Punk und Hardcore zum Jahresbeginn/ Monatsende! Im Feber rocken MADE OUT OF BABIES aus New York City zusammen mit den Innsbruckern SWEET BERSERKER aus Ibk die pmk. Watch out for this one! Mit RED SPARROWS im März ist uns dann wiedermal ein großer Schlag gelungen, sozusagen ein K.O.-Schlag in den ersten Sekunden eines Kampfes. ISIS, NEUROSIS, HALIFAX PIER und THE CIGNAL Members haben sich vereinigt um ein Sound Monster auf die welt loszulassen. Ansonsten steht sowohl dieses Grauzone Info als auch das Info-Beisl ganz im Zeichen der österreichischen EU-Präsidentschaft und des damit verbundenen EU-Gipfels der VerteidigungsministerInnen Anfang März in Ibk. Infos zur EU- Präsidentschaft, ein Text von der Gruppe MOVE und zu Widerstand gegen den europäischen Koloss finden sich im Info, wir hoffen natürlich auf eine rege Beteiligung an den Protesten. Mitmachen, nachmachen, selber machen!!! Das Infobeisl beschäftigt sich Jänner und Feber mit der Militarisierung der EU, der Linken und dem Krieg und einem Rechtshilfe Infoabend (never forget: Keine Aussagen bei und keine Kooperation mit Polizei und Justiz!!!). Am 10. Feber steigt die MOVE soli part-ee in der pmk ... Interessant sind auch die Infos zum Thema Privatisierung des Wassers in Bolivien. Ausserdem gibt es noch einen kurzen Auszug eines Interviews mit Youssef, einem Schwulenaktivisten und indymedia-Mitarbeiter, den wir in Beirut getroffen haben und der uns viel über Homosexualität im arabischen Raum erzählt hat.

    Community College of Denver Student Literary & Art Magazine 2015 & 2016 Community College of Denver Student Literary & Art Magazine 2015 & 2016 Hi! Ourglass, now in its 36th year of publication, is the journal of the English, Graphic Design, and Visual Arts departments at Community College of Denver, dedicated to providing a forum for the poetry, prose, drama, design, and artwork of our students. Please consider submitting your work to Ourglass. If you are attending CCD or have attended in the past, you are eligible to submit. Submissions are accepted between September 15th and March 24th of each year. We accept submissions of poetry, fiction, non-fiction, drama, and artwork, as well as any interesting combinations thereof, exclusively through our email address: [email protected]. All work submitted must include your name, phone number and current email address. Submit one story or essay at a time; poems can be sent in groups. Send in only low-resolution copies of artwork; we will contact you for high-resolution versions at a later time.
