Potash to Hite Marina 96 River Miles

On this 2, 3 or 5 Day Rafting trip, you will travel a total of 96 miles through Canyonlands National Park and Cataract Canyon.

The Day Before: Please plan to arrive in Moab, UT the day prior to your trip departure. You will require motel accommodations. That evening you will gather for a Meet & Greet at The Aarchway Inn, where you will be met by our representative. He will give instructions on how to pack your gear and answering any last minute questions you have pertaining to your expedition. The Meet & Greet will last approximately ½ hour.

The Day of Departure: We will transport you via chartered bus from The Aarchway Inn to Potash where your trip begins. You will arrive at the launch point at approximately 9:30 a.m.

The adventure begins with a relaxing float on the river in Canyonlands notorious red sandstone. You will stop along the way at side canyons to view cliff dwellings, petroglyphs, Puebloan granaries, and waterfalls. You will camp under a blanket of stars, on sandy beaches along the Colorado River. At the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers the excitement begins. In Cataract Canyon you will be rafting some of the premier white water in the west, 29 rapids in all.

The Last Day: You will enjoy your last breakfast on the banks of the Colorado River. After breakfast you will pack you personal bags and prepare to travel the last 30 river miles entering Lake Powell in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area arriving at Hite Marina at approximately 2:00 pm. Lunch will be provided along the way. Once you arrive at North Wash transportation will be provided to the air strip.

Transportation Arrangements (Refer to the enclosed Optional Related Facilities and Transportation sheet)

1. If you are flying to Moab, Utah Getting There: Plan on arriving the day before your river trip. United and SkyWest/Delta Air are the two commercial airlines into Moab, UT. Upon arrival at Canyonlands Air Field (CNY) in Moab contact a shuttle service for transportation to your motel. There is an additional fee for this shuttle. However if you are staying at the Aarchway Inn shuttle service is complimentary. Going Home: Wilderness River Adventures can arrange a charter flight for you from Hite Marina back to Moab for an additional $145. There is an additional charge for the shuttle back into town. Unless you left your vehicle at Aarchway Inn they provide complimentary transportation back to the Aarchway Inn.

2. If you are driving to Moab, Utah Getting There: Drive to Moab, Utah. You will have to make prior arrangements, to have your car shuttled from Moab to Hite Marina by one of the three shuttle companies in Moab. There is an additional charge for this service. Going Home: At the end of your trip your car will be awaiting you at North Wash. The shuttle company will advise you where they will park your vehicle.
