Her current research program develops and experimentally tests measures that trigger pro-environmental behaviour in tourists. She also continues to have an interest in peer-to-peer accommodation, an interest that has been reignited as a consequence of COVID-19. Professor Dolnicar currently serves as the Co- Editor in Chief of Annals of Tourism Research. She was awarDeD the Travel anD Tourism Research Association Distinguished Researcher Award in 2017, and named the Slovenian Ambassador of Science in 2016, the highest honour the Republic of Slovenia bestows on expatriate Slovenian researchers in recognition of global excellence, impact, anD knowledge transfer. Marina Novelli, Professor of Tourism anD International Development at Brighton Business School, University of Brighton, UniteD KingDom Title of keynote speech: "Niche Tourism and the quest for a better future" Professor Marina Novelli (PhD) is an internationally renowned Tourism and International Development expert and Professor of Tourism and International Development at the University of Brighton (UK). With a backgrounD in economics, she has written and advised extensively in the field of international tourism policy, planning, development and management in Africa, Europe and Asia for institutions such as the World Bank, the EU, UNESCO, UNIDO, the UNWTO, the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, National Ministries and Tourism Boards, Regional Development Agencies anD NGOs. Prof. Novelli is committed to generating new knowledge on ways in which tourism can play a key role in sustainable development by stimulating local economies, conserving the environment, developing people and changing lives. She is known globally for her contribution to the concept of Niche Tourism, elaboration of the Overtourism concept and empirically grounDed stuDies on sustainable tourism in Africa. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Tourism Management, and was the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Teaching in Travel anD Tourism for 16 years. She receiveD the John Wiley & Sons Lifetime Research Achievement Award in 2009 and International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators’ Martin Oppermann Memorial AwarD for Lifetime Contribution to Tourism EDucation in 2011. 3 Dimitrios BuhaliS, Strategic Management and Marketing expert with specialization in ICT, Smart Environments and Interactive Marketing. Professor, Bournemouth University, United Kingdom Title of keynote speech: “Smart and ambient intelligence tourism in the post covid era” Professor Dimitrios Buhalis is a renown keynote speaker at conferences and workshops around the world. Alfonso Vargas–SáncheZ, Professor of Μanagement and Marketing, University of Huelva, Spain Title of keynote speech: “A new tourism governance for a new time?” Alfonso Vargas-Sánchez is Full Professor at the Spanish University of Huelva, anD he has heaDed its Research Group on "Innovation anD Development Strategies in Tourist Firms" (GEIDETUR) During the period 2004-2016. His main research interests are in the Strategic Management discipline and in the tourism industry, both in companies and destinations management. Title of keynote speech: “Automation technologies in shaping tourism and hospitality in the post- viral worlD” Dr. Stanislav Ivanov is Professor anD Vice-Rector (Research) at Varna University of Management, Bulgaria and Director of Zangador Research Institute. Prof. Ivanov is the Founder and Editor-in-chief of two academic journals: European Journal of Tourism Research and ROBONOMICS: The Journal of the Automated Economy. Cleopatra Veloutsou, Professor of BranD Management, ADam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, United Kingdom Title of keynote speech: “Service Failure, Service Recovery and Branding in Tourism” Cleopatra Veloutsou is a Professor of Brand Management in the Adam Smith Business School of the University of Glasgow (UK), a Visiting Professor at the University of Bari (Italy), University of Bergamo (Italy), PresiDent University (InDonesia), Hellenic Open University (Greece) anD University of Coibra (Portugal) anD the HeaD of the Marketing Research Unit of the Athens Institute of EDucation anD Research (ATINER) (Greece).     Sporcularımızın Yaz Olimpiyatları Öyküsü Modern Olimpiyat Oyunları’nın kurucusu Fransız Pierre de Coubertin, 1800’lü yılların sonrasında sosyal ve siyasal anlamda çöküntü yaşayan ülkesinin kurtuluşunu, Fransız gencinin ahlakını güçlendirecek, inançlarını sağlamlaştıracak, karakterli, bedenen güçlü ve cesur bir eğitim sisteminde gördü. Türk ulusunun kurtarıcısı Büyük Atatürk’ün ölümünde Fransızların ünlü günlük spor gazetesi L’Auto’da yayınlanan makalede, Atatürk’ün spora verdiği önem şöyle anlatılıyordu: “Dünyada ilk kez beden eğitimini zorunlu kılan devlet adamı o oldu. Yalnızca kağıt üzerinde, nutuklarda değil, uygulayarak yerine getirdi. Stadyumlar ve çeşitli spor merkezleri kurdurdu. Halk evlerinin spor kollarını şahsen denetledi. Ulusun geleceğine yön verdiği günden itibaren Türkiye’de spor gittikçe artan bir önem ve değer kazandı.” Genç Türkiye Cumhuriyeti, Uluslararası Olimpiyat Komitesi’nce tarihinde ilk kez Paris 1924 Olimpiyat Oyunları’na resmen davet edildiğinde, Türkiye İdman Cemiyetleri İttifakı ile Türkiye Milli Olimpiyat Komitesi yöneticileri hükümetten yardım isteme kararı almışlar ve bunun için bir heyeti Ankara’ya göndermişlerdi. 1923 Ağustos’unda Ankara’ya gelen İdman Cemiyetleri İttifakı Başkanı Ali Sami Yen, önce Milli Eğitim Bakanı İsmail Sefa Özler’i daha sonra da Başbakan İsmet İnönü’yü ziyaret ederek gerek İdman Cemiyetleri İttifakı Örgütü’nün ülkedeki gelişimi ve gerekse Türkiye’nin Paris 1924 Olimpiyatı’na katılımı için hazırlanan bir raporu sundu. 18 Ağustos 1923 tarihli hükümet programında şu cümleler yer alıyordu: “Milli Eğitimin görevlerinden birincisi, çocukların eğitimi ve öğretimi; ikincisi, halkın eğitimi ve öğretimi; üçüncüsü, milli yıldızların yetiştirilmesi için gerekli araç-gereçlerin belirlenmesi ve sağlanmasıdır.” Bu arada TMOK Genel Sekreteri ve IOC Türkiye Temsilcisi Selim Sırrı Bey (Tarcan), hükümet programına bir yıl süreli beden eğitimi okulunu koydurma başarısını göstermişti.
