Here is the album you're looking for. A guitarist of impeccable taste and a veteran tenor sax player have teamed up to produce a breezy and informal album that simply bears their first names, Buck and Bud. Bucky Pizzarelli has emerged slowly into the public limelight from the ranks of the underrated and talented studio jazz musicians. He has put in his time with the likes of , ' and Benny Carter. He was even a member of the NBC studio band and a mainstay on the Dick Cavett show band. He handles acoustic and electric, swing and classicial music all with equal aplomb and finesse. Bud Freeman turned seventy years old this year but he blows as sweetly as ever. His home of late is Ireland and in recent years he has toured with the Worlds' Greatest Jazz Band (that's really their name!). This is the first time that Bucky and Bud have teamed up as a duet and the results are delightful. Six of the album's eleven tracks are duets for Bucky on electric guitar and Bud on tenor. Old standards like "Tea For Two," "You Took Advantage of Me" and "Dinah" receive bare bones treatment, but, oh, how these two can flesh out a song. Pizzarelli is content, for the most part, to let Freeman solo and carry the melody as he vamps in the background with the loveliest of progreSSions. On the other five cuts Bucky and Bud are assisted by Hank Jones.on piano, Bob Haggart on bass'and Ronnie Taxler on drums. Pizzarelli switches to acoustic guitar for his quintet number, something heard all too rarely in , and the results conjure up the guitar greats like Charlie Christian and . "Sweet Sue" spotlights some brilliant tinkling on the ivories by Hank Jones. The works of Mr. Maday, a Philadelphia, Pa., resident, will continue to be exhibited through October 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Having begun as a traditionalist, Andrij . Maday has branched out into an ex pressive, abstract style. Much of the ar tist's work reflects his Ukrainian ancestry, dealing with some still-life and landscape subjects but leaning more heavily towards figurative portraiture. Andrij Maday has exhibited extensively throughout Pennsylvania and in New Jersey, Illinois, Maryland and Delaware. His most recent one-artist shows have been at LaSalle College, Philadelphia, Pa., and at Selfreliance F.C.U. in Baltimore. Mr. Maday is represented by prints at the Ukrainian University of St. Clement in Rome, Italy, where he attended summer semesters for two seasons. His work also bangs in The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts from which he graduated in 1975.
