Thank you for showing your support for the 2019 James W. Foley Freedom Run! To help make your 5K Run/Walk as much fun as possible, we are providing you with this helpful guide to spread the word about our event and encourage others to join in. We are so excited to have you on board!

Purpose of the James W. Foley Freedom Run/Walk

• To promote the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation, in remembrance of Jim, a committed American conflict journalist, compassionate teacher, mentor and humanitarian, who aspired to live a life of moral courage. • Our 2019 Foley Freedom Run goal is to inspire moral courage one person at a time, remember all who have died to keep us free, raise funds for the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation, and provide an opportunity for people to come together to protect freedom.

• Funds raised will be used to: o Advocate for the freedom of all Americans kidnapped or unjustly detained abroad through supporting their families, conducting research on current hostage issues and advocating for stronger US hostage policy. o Promote the safety of journalists worldwide, and freelance journalists working in dangerous areas, through safety training and education. o Educate the public regarding the silent crises of hostage-taking and threats to press freedom, and students of journalism on preventative safety measures through the James W. Foley Safety curriculum and the documentary Jim: The James Foley Story.

Upon clicking the share button on our website, the following message will appear: 2019 James W.
