Sito web www.seat.com La SEAT, acronimo di Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo (Società spagnola di automobili da turismo) è una casa automobilistica spagnola fondata nel 1950 dall'Instituto Nacional de Industria per il 51% e FIAT per il 7%.[1] Oggi fa parte del gruppo Volkswagen. Gli anni Fiat Fondata nel 1950, nel 1953 fu inaugurato lo stabilimento di Zona Franca (presso Barcellona), precisamente il 5 giugno. In quest'anno fu prodotta la prima auto marchiata SEAT,[1] una SEAT 1400, uscita dalle catene di montaggio il 13 novembre. La SEAT 1400 fu il primo modello SEAT, prodotta come gemella della Fiat 1400 in varie versioni, di cui la versione "C" in cui la linea riprendeva invece quella della Fiat 1800. Per sostituire la 1400 arrivò la SEAT 1500, gemella dell'omonimo modello Fiat 1500L. Nel 1957 entrò in produzione un'altra vettura Fiat rimarchiata SEAT, la SEAT 600, che segnerà l'inizio della motorizzazione di massa in Spagna. Questa fu resa disponibile nelle versioni N, D, E, L e Special e di cui furono prodotti 800.000 esemplari. Tra le versioni particolari si deve citare quella a 4 porte, chiamata SEAT 800, dotata di motore 800cc. Nel 1965 si iniziò l'esportazione della SEAT 600 in Colombia. La fabbricazione locale inizierà poco dopo presso i nuovi stabilimenti Fiat, mentre l'anno successivo la 600 venne sostituita dalla SEAT 850, come accadde per il modello Fiat. Nel 1968 nacque la SEAT 124, che sostituisce la 1500, dotata del motore Fiat di 1197cc della Fiat 124 e, sempre nel 1968, esordì la SEAT 1430, identica alla 124 tranne per il motore 1430cc. Nel 1972 arrivò il modello destinato a sostituire la 850, la SEAT 127, prodotta in molte versioni, fra cui la tre volumi, mentre l'anno successivo la Seat lancia la Seat 132, identica alla Fiat 132, e inizia la costruzione del Centro tecnico SEAT di Martorell. Nel 1974 arriva la SEAT 133 che si instaura al di sotto della 127 ed è venduta solo in Spagna con marchio Seat e con quello Fiat in Argentina dove sarà anche fabbricata. L'anno successivo arriva la Seat 131 che sostituisce le 1430 e 124 riscuotendo un notevole successo. Successivamente, vennero prodotte le ultime auto di origine Fiat: La Seat 1200 Sport, la SEAT Ritmo, la Seat 128 3P e la SEAT Panda. Il distacco dalla Fiat Nel 1982 si rompe l'accordo con la Fiat dopo un arduo negoziato riguardo alla necessaria ricapitalizzazione del costruttore spagnolo perché la Fiat ne prenda il controllo. Lo Stato spagnolo non volle partecipare a tale investimento e la Seat, priva di dovuti mezzi finanziari, il 30 settembre di quell'anno firmò alcuni accordi di collaborazione industriale e commerciale con Volkswagen che le permisero di fabbricare modelli per conto della casa tedesca. Nel frattempo, in attesa dei nuovi modelli, vennero continuate le produzioni di quelli Fiat, opportunamente modificati in alcuni dettagli: continuò così ad essere prodotta la Ritmo (chiamata adesso SEAT Ronda), la Panda (diventata SEAT Marbella), il Fiorino (SEAT Terra) e la 127 (SEAT Fura). Il primo modello nato da un progetto indipendente SEAT fu la Ibiza, uscita dalle catene di montaggio il 27 aprile 1984, che prese il posto della SEAT Fura. La Ibiza diventerà il cavallo di battaglia della SEAT; il modello è infatti giunto alla sua quarta generazione. Nel 1986, nel mese di giugno, Volkswagen rileva il 51% del capitale SEAT e porta la sua quota azionaria al 75% entro la fine dell’anno. SEAT inizia le esportazioni in Europa e nasce SEAT Sport, la divisione sportiva dell’azienda. Successivamente nacquero altri modelli che sostituirono gli ex modelli Fiat, tra cui la SEAT Malaga (sostituita a sua volta dalla SEAT Cordoba), SEAT Inca e la SEAT Arosa. Gli ultimi modelli introdotti sono la SEAT León, la SEAT Altea, con le sue derivazioni SEAT Altea XL, SEAT Altea Freetrack e SEAT Toledo. Il grande cambiamento in termini qualitativi e di design è dovuto in parte alla appartenenza al Gruppo Volkswagen (da cui proviene tutta la meccanica presente sulle vetture), in parte al lavoro del conosciuto designer italiano Walter De' Silva. Per sottolineare la nuova missione sportiva, la SEAT partecipa attualmente a diverse gare internazionali (WTCC, ETCC, BTCC, ITCC) con la Leon WTCC. Nel 1999 e nel 2000, SEAT è impegnata nel Campionato Mondiale Rally con il modello Cordoba WRC. Nei due anni non ottiene però risultati di rilievo, tranne un terzo posto conquistato dal Campione del Mondo '94 Didier Auriol al Safari Rally Kenya del 2000. In quegli anni corrono per la squadra spagnola, oltre a Didier Auriol (che arriva nel 2000), anche l'italiano Piero Liatti, reduce dall'esperienza nel Subaru World Rally Team, e una giovane promessa, il finlandese Toni Gardemeister.     HISTORIA DE LOS AÑOS 50 La "Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo" (SEAT) apareció el 9 de mayo de 1950 en el despacho de un notario. Firmaron la escritura pública el INI (Instituto Nacional de Industria), cinco bancos españoles y la empresa automovilística Fiat, que aportaba su tecnología y experiencia en el sector. Además, Fiat, dada su posición de privilegio en el pacto, impuso los criterios económico-industriales por encima de los criterios políticos deseados por los miembros del estado totalitario. Gracias a este hecho, la fábrica se construyó finalmente en unos terrenos de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, muy cerca del puerto y, por lo tanto, con muy buenas comunicaciones, descartando la ubicación de las instalaciones en una zona "más española" como hubiera sido Merimé, que era la preferida por las autoridades. En los primeros tiempos de funcionamiento de la sociedad, los principales lugares de responsabilidad fueron ocupados por ingenieros militares como José Ortiz Echagüe, primer presidente de la empresa, o Luís Villar Molina, que inspeccionaba periódicamente a través de las 22 hectáreas de las instalaciones los avances en las obras de construcción de las naves montado en su caballo. Las primeras naves empezaron a levantarse poco después de que el congreso norteamericano aprobase un crédito de 62 millones de dólares fruto del final del aislamiento internacional al cual se había sometido el estado español desde la II guerra Mundial debido al triunfo, aquí, del fascismo. The first years of SEAT, after the 1400, the car connoisseurs of the time understood perfectly which cars the new SEAT 1500 tried to emulate when it was born in 1963: angular and prominent corners in its body, lavish chrome trims, diagonal white-wall tyres... Seventy years later, the body style to follow has the format of an attractive SUV like the one offered by the SEAT Tarraco. SEAT 1500: spacious, comfortable, robust and oozing class STAMPA Better sized and priced than the American vehicles of the time, the 1500 adopted all the luxury and features one could dream of and afford in a car. Media of the time considered it as a "chauffeur-driven car", worthy of politicians, company managers and wealthy people. Of course, the SEAT 1500 was also ideal for large families, in a time when having six seats (the bench in front NEWS NEWS allowed three occupants) did not prevent a larger occupancy. Spacious, comfortable and with a huge boot capacity, it is not surprising that it was also a favorite model among taxi drivers and all kinds of official services. Its reliable 1,481 cm3 overhead valve engine (hence the denomination 1500), produced 72PS at PRESSE PRESSE 5,200 rpm, good enough for a 1,200 kilos of weight.
