V.1.01 About This iBook This iBook has been created for use at SLATE 2013 for “APPficiency.” The reason for using this format is to hopefully have people think a little differently about the APPs they use. The APPs mentioned in this iBook are not necessarily the ‘best’ in their respective ‘categories.’ The variety of APPs is merely to represent how different people may find solutions to use in their daily lives to help them be effective.
The idea of APPficiency is more a way of thinking about the APPs you use. The more an APP can communicate with services that you already are using the better. Charting the growth of the iPhone App Store since its launch in July 2008 is to watch a market explode. In just a few short years, the App Store has transformed how interact with mobile devices and built many successful businesses. Below is a list of the total number of apps available in the App Store at given dates in the past. The list is based on Apple announcements and numbers are approximate:

Finding APPs that allow you to work smarter, more efficiently, effectively and redundancy. Section 1 Wake Up
Time to start the day
Eve R. Noute used her iPhone to wake her up with her SLEEP MACHINE App. It not only has an alarm but she likes the back ground noises she can choose to help her sleep.
Mini Malap uses her built in CLOCK app for her alarm each morning. Mini just asks Siri to set the alarm the night before. Mini also likes the CLOCK PRO (iPad) app because it has several more timer options as well as the ability to set an alarm.
Newbert D. Betur uses his SHARP MIND app for his morning alarm. He also likes the binaural features of the app to help him think and be more productive.
4 Section 2 What’s Happening?
What’s Happening
Eve R. Noute checks her day for meetings and tasks using POCKET INFORMANT. She likes this because it synchronizes with her disrict’s Google Calendar and her Toodledo tasks, as well as notes on Evernote.
Mini Malap uses her TEMPO app and asks Siri to tell her what is on her schedule for the day.
Newbert D. Betur uses his iPad and launches Awesome Calendar to find out the activities for his day. Newbert also uses his Awesome Note app calendar to see if the same information is there as well as taking the link he made using iFAVORITE which takes him to the web based Google Calendar he uses for work. He then checks his tasks with Wunderlist and compares it with TODO app.
5 Section 3 Quick Comm
Eve R. Noute checks her e-mail using the Newbert D. Betur checks his mail using the Gmail App and uses some of shortcuts she built in Mail App, the Gmail App, Mailbox has set up as templates for responses to and iMailG HD. Each has qualities he likes parents and staff. She then opens iBooks to so he alternates using these because it read some more of a book she downloaded. would be boring to use just one e-mail Eve also sends a message using the application. iMailG HD has the benefit of built Messages App to her friend Newbert about in text snippets which you can use too. attending the SLATE 2013 Conference. Newbert then opens his Nook app to read some more of the book that the staff are Mini Malap checks her e-mail using the built reading at his school. Newbert also uses the in Mail App and to make things easier for Kindle, Wattpad, Kobo, KnoTextbooks and herself she just uses the same e-mail OverDrive apps for reading. Newbert then signature and even set it up in her settings checked his voicemail by opening his on her iPad and iPhone. Mini then opened Google Voice App which he uses instead of the Newstand App to read one of the the built in voicemail feature. Newbert magazines to which she has a subscription. decides to open GV Mobile+ and GV Mini’s daughter then calls Mini using Connect which he also uses for his other Facetime to ask her question as she Google Voice numbers. prepares to come home from College for Christmas.
6 Section 4 Zoom Zoom Zoom
Eve R. Noute is ready to go to work and opens up her Waze Navigation App. She likes how it will alert her to traffic related information such as traffic jam, closed roads, weather related issues, vehicles on shoulder and even if there are policy on her route to work. She also uses her Bluetooth headset to listen to music from her library with Soundhound.
Mini Malap is ready to go and opens her built in Maps Navigation App. Mini also listens to music, but just uses the built in Music App and plays it through her iPhone speakers.
Newbert D. Betur is ready to leave and he opens his Google Maps app along with his built in Maps just to make sure the information is collaborated. Newbert uses his mobile Bluetooth speaker to play music from his iPad. He is trying to decide which music app to use: Pandora, iHeartRadio, Songza, Spotify, or maybe CarTunes. Maybe he will listen to a Podcast on “How to Make the Common Core, Common Place with Uncommon Strategies.”

Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances (using short-wavelength microwave transmissions in the ISM band from 2400–2480 MHz) from fixed and mobile devices, creating personal area networks (PANs) with high levels of security. Bluetooth is managed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, which has more than 19,000 member companies in the areas of telecommunication, computing, networking, and consumer electronics.[3] Bluetooth was standardized as IEEE 802.15.1, but the standard is no longer maintained.
