Craig "Fletch" Fletchall is in his 9th season leading the Cougars. On November 8, 2013, Fletch picked up win #189 earning the top spot for wins in Barton men's basket- ball history surpassing Dan McGovern’s 188 mark set during the 1986-1994 seasons. Entering the 2013-14 campaign, Fletch's record at Barton was 185-72 - an average of almost 23 wins a season and a .720 winning percentage. Throughout Fletch’s colle- giate career coaching, his record entering the season is 286-130, good for a .689 win percentage. Last season Fletch guided the Cougars to a 28-6 season, 12-4 in the rugged Jayhawk West division, ending the sea- son one victory away from the NJCAA Division I Tourna- ment and finishing at #24 in the nation. The Cougars cap- tured a road quarterfinal victory then knocked off the Jayhawk West regular season champion before falling in the Region VI Championship game to the nation’s number nine ranked team. Prior to last season, Fletch guided the Cougars to a 26-7 season and ten consecutive weeks in the NJCAA Division I Top 20. After knocking off the #5 ranked team in the country in the Region VI quarterfinals, the Cougars season came to an end in the semifinals. Under Fletch the Cougars have spent a lot of time ranked in the NJCAA Top 25 with the highest ranking coming in the 2011-12 season as Barton climbed all the way to 7th in the (Photo: In a brief recognition polls. College 100-76 at the Coffeyville Classic in Coffeyville, KS.) Fletch has spent most of his career in the Jayhawk Conference and its surrounding communities, growing up in Hutchinson and attending college at Wichita State University and Fort Hays State Universi- ty. He spent 11 seasons in the high school ranks, winning a state title at Hutch Trinity in 1987. Trinity was where Fletch started his coaching career, going 40-9 in his 2 seasons with the state title in 1987. After winning the state title, Fletch moved on to Wichita Kapaun Mount Carmel where he guided the Crusaders for three seasons before taking the job at Shawnee Mission East. In his 6 years at East, his clubs went 86-47 and posted the school record for number of wins at 19 in his final season in 1996. His teams won back-to-back Sub State titles (the only time in school history). He earned league Coach of the Year honors at Trinity (1987) and East (1993). Fletch was 146-99 in his 11 seasons at the high school level. Fletch began his service in the Jayhawk Conference as an assis- tant at Cowley County Community College for three seasons. The Tigers set the school record for wins in 2 of those 3 sea- sons. In 1998 – Fletch’s initial season at Cowley – the Tigers won 25 games only to better that mark in 2000 at 26. From there he moved on to Neosho where he took the Panthers to within a game of the NJCAA National Tournament. Fletch and his wife Patty have three children Morgan, Mara, and Melyne.

Matt Hundley begins his fourth season as an assistant for Barton. During his previous three seasons, Hundley has helped guide the Cougars to a 73-25 record including two trips to the Region VI Final Four, most recently falling in the Region VI Championship game. Prior to Barton, Hundley spent 4 seasons at Topeka West High School, with the best of the seasons coming in his final year falling in the Class 5A State Championship game. For his team's efforts, Hundley was tabbed City Co- Coach of the Year by the Topeka Capital-Journal. Prior to his 4 years in Topeka, Hundley was the coach at Lyndon High School for two seasons and started his coaching career fresh out of college as a stu- dent assistant and graduate assistant for Bob Chipman at Washburn Universi- ty for two seasons. He played collegiately at Washburn helping the Topeka school to a runner- up finish at the 2001 NCAA Divi- sion II National Championships. The Ichabods won the MIAA that year as well. Hundley was part of a state champion in basketball at Bern High School in 1997 as well as a member of the 1998 state champion track team at Bern. Carter Kruger enters his second season as head coach at Barton and his third year with the Lady Cougars. Kruger served his first season at Barton as assistant coach after spending two seasons as the assistant coach at Garden City Community College. Spending two years at Garden City, Kruger was responsible for working with the post players, game development, and recruiting duties. Kruger had two players sign NCAA Division I scholarships and three players sign Division II. Additionally, Kruger coached one first-team, one second-team, and two Honorable Mention All Jayhawk West performers while at Garden City. Prior to Garden City, Kruger was an assistant men’s basketball coach at Minnesota State University – Mankato for two seasons. While there, the Mavericks won 51 games, made two NCAA tournament appearances, and had two All-American post players. “Carter Kruger is a good one, an up and coming bright star in this business.” said former Barton Women’s Head Basketball Coach Darin Spence. “Coaching is in his blood, following in his father’s footsteps. Carter has a high basketball IQ, teaches the game well and relates to players well as he works on their behalf to them on their journey. Carter has a tremendous work ethic and understands that it is the “little things” that make up solid programs. Our student-athletes are fortunate to have him on staff and to be able to learn from him each day. Carter will represent Barton in a first class manner.” Kruger graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State and a master’s degree from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. His father, Kelly Kruger, is currently the winningest coach in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference at Adams State.

Alan Clark enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Lady Cougar basketball team. A Barton alumna, Clark joins the coaching staff after leading the Otis-Bison High School boys team his past three seasons. While at Otis-Bison, Clark led the team to two state tournaments, finishing as the state runner-up last season after finishing third in 2011. Last season’s runner-up finish was the highest ever finish for Otis-Bison basketball. Coaching at various levels of basketball, Clark has coached teams throughout the central Kansas region. From AAU basketball to crossing lines to AAU baseball where Clark helped develop nine of his eleven players into college scholarships as well as one Major League draftee. Clark brings years of experience and experiences to Lady Cougar basketball. A 1978 Barton graduate, Clark played point guard for the Cougar basketball team, leading the Cougars to their first ever Jayhawk West Conference title and Region 6 runner-up finish and a 27-3 overall mark in the 76-77 season. Clark held the Barton assist record for thirteen years and can still be found among the leaders in both assists per game and percentage 35 years later. After graduating from Barton, Clark went on to Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska, and helped them in an amazing turnaround from a dismal two win season the year before his arrival to a post season playoff team in his first year there. After college he became a well-known local businessman. As a well- respected basketball official he worked numerous high school State Championship and college Region 6 and National tournament games. Clark has also enjoyed seeing his two sons attend Barton as they played on the basketball and baseball teams.

"Considering her size, Sharyce plays much bigger. She has a strong drive and ability to finish shots around the basket against bigger players. I really like the fact that Sharyce can play in a variety of settings. She can push tempo, and/or slow it down. She can make plays for her teammates while remaining a viable scoring threat from that lead guard position. I'm excited to get her to Kansas!"

Tori will be counted on to be a shut-down defender and to make open shots. She has great length and the ability to change a game based on her defensive presence – something we need in our system."

She played a vital role on the team that went to the Tennessee state tournament her junior year, and I know Coach (Tommy) Warren really missed the breakout year she would've had as a senior. I don't look at Raven as us taking a chance on an injured player – I know she's been well-coached, she's tough, and she will do whatever it takes to help us win next year."
