CatchItKansas.com is a celebration of high school sports designed for young athletes, their coaches, parents, grandparents and fans of all ages. Started with only a dozen Wichita high schools, CatchItKansas has expanded from that base to more than 170 schools. We provide stories, schedules, scores, game statistics, video and photos. We are the primary source of information on every varsity contest, in every high school sport, from football to bowling. Our aim is to provide complete results, not just on the winners but those filling all eight lanes at a track meet or a swim meet. Want to know who's leading the area in any statistical category? We crunch the numbers for you throughout the season. And once it's over, you'll find all-league and all-state teams on CatchItKansas.com. Many of the stories you will find on CatchItKansas.com are written by student journalists at the schools they cover. And we encourage all of you to contribute as well by submitting your own digital highlight videos and photos to MyLocker.

Emily graduated from Washburn University and began her profession as a Physical Therapist Assis- tant at Satanta District Hospital while Kevin worked in Admissions at Garden City Community College. In 2000, Kevin and Emily relocated to Ellsworth, Kansas. Kevin worked for Barton County Community College for seven years and Emily began working at Ellsworth County Medical Center and is currently still working there. Kevin began his coaching career in 2000 at Quivira Heights High School. He was the assistant boys basketball coach in 2000 and then took over as the head coach in 2001, and 2002. He then took over as the head boys basket- ball coach at Claflin High School in 2003 and remained there through 2007. During his time at Claflin, he led his teams to the state tournament in 2006 & 2007 and his team was the state runner-up in 2006. In 2007 Kevin began teaching and coaching at Ellsworth High School and he will be beginning his fifth year as head basketball coach at EHS. He has also been the head golf coach at EHS since 2008.

On March 18, 2011, Emily, Kevin’s wife of 12 years and mother of their 2 children, son Avery (8) and daughter Elyse (3), was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Their world was turned upside down at that time. Emily has always been a healthy person and has tried to take care of her body, physically, emotionally, and mentally. These last several months have really been eye opening and have changed their perspective on so many different levels. They have always felt like spiritual, Christian people but have definitely grown closer to the Lord and leaned on Him, and gained strength from Him these past several months. Emily is courageously continuing to battle this dis- ease by taking treatments and leaning on her faith, family, friends, and community. Her determination and tough- ness is personified by the way she continues to live her daily life and she continues to be a positive impact on eve- ryone she is in contact with. Surgery will be in the near future and they know that there are a lot of challenges still ahead, but believe without challenge, there is no achievement.
