Tata Network Forums (TNFs) are increasingly playing an important role in enabling companies to come together and seek solutions to common issues. A case in point was the TNF MENA meeting which took place to address the diplomatic situation in the Gulf, when Arab nations cut off ties with Qatar. Tata companies came together at Dubai using the TNF MENA to understand the impact on their businesses and plan for mitigation measures. In the past six months, TNFs also enabled companies to seek knowledge and share best practices in various areas like Customer, HR, Ethics, Business Excellence, Digitisation, Communications, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. I must mention that the Tata Sustainability Group is increasingly utilising the TNF forum to spread its messages through the Tata Sustainability month celebrations and other workshops. Sustainability events featured in most TNFs across the world in the past two quarters. All these TNF events brought together many more Tata employees during these past few months, which is proof of the growing popularity of the TNFs. The reach and impact of TNF activities is gradually building, and I am sure that it will achieve greater heights in the coming times. As the Tata group celebrates its one-ness, TNFs will be able to connect many more employees and enable the proliferation of knowledge and best practices.

Taking this into account as well as branding a strategy of not wanting an omnibus known as Taj defining all its properties the company has rebranded its properties into Taj, Vivanta by Taj, The Gateway and Ginger. Gateway is positioned above the economy brand Ginger but placed below the Residency and the Taj brands. The Gateway Hotel caters to a pan-India network of hotels and resorts offering all the key services at competitive prices. The pricing starts from Rs 3,000 and to over Rs 6,000 depending on the location. The company plans to invest aggressively to promote the brand through owned and managed properties. The Gateway Hotels are to be set up in each of the country’s business districts and leisure locations, catering primarily to the contemporary traveller.     TBExG organises Global BE Heads meeting in New Delhi Business Excellence (BE) Heads from across the globe met in New Delhi on December 10, 2016, to learn from each other, adapt best practices and improve the journey of excellence in the Tata Group. This was the ninth BE Heads meeting under the aegis of the BE Heads Forum convened by Tata Business Excellence Group (TBExG). Close to 50 BE Heads from various Tata companies joined the meeting held at Vivanta by Taj, Dwarka, New Delhi. The meeting started off with a welcome address by S Padmanabhan, Executive Chairman, TBExG, where he stressed on the need to co-create solutions to help accelerate the journey of business excellence. He also spoke about how suggestions from BE Heads had helped the TBEM Assessment process improve. Saurav Chakrabarti, General Manager, TBExG, then went on to talk about the 20 improvement projects that were undertaken based on inputs received from the BE Heads Forum and how they helped better the performance. Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO, Vistara, delivered the keynote address at the forum. He spoke about what makes Singapore Airlines a great way to fly. During the address, he explained how Vistara was imbibing the same customer centricity and operational processes to deliver an excellent experience to all fliers. It was an enthralling presentation which kept the members of the audience glued to their seats. Simplicity and execution excellence were two attributes that Mr Yeoh focused on during his talk.
