Hands on training on mushroom cultivation and entrepreneurship development. Villagers of Kalkolia Gram Panchayat. 25 people have been trained.

10 days Outbound Industry tour at NCR 2020. CNH (New Hollands), RSPL Group (Ghari Detergent), GIP Mall, Anmol bakers, Global Autotech, Mirza International Ltd.(Red Tape), Shivam Polymers, Expo mart, Graziano Dana, Anmol Biscuits, Wipe , CS electric, Graziano, CNH, Subros, ABP News. For the 15 visits a total of 705 cumulative students were a part of the tour.

NSS Activities:

1. NSS Volunteers cleaning football ground as a part of their daily activities and they have also taken the responsibility to clean this ground on their own hand.

2. Swachhata Pakhwada-2019-20 was organised by the University where the NSS Volunteers from different department participated to make it a grand success. As per directives of MHRD, GoI, the students have planted 10 saplings of different . The entire plantation programme was taken place infront of department who will look after these all saplings. Participated in the poster making competition on Water conservation.

3. Garden cleaning is the part of daily activities of the NSS volunteers. Three days in a week is the work assigned to each and every department to clean the garden. Subsequently the university has decreased her daily labour cost on garden and university cleaning purposes.

4. NSS Volunteers participated in the all events of Ek Bharat Srestha Bharat programme. Volunteers of NSS Unit, TU are members of Ek Bharat Srestha Bharat Club. Participated in a special talk on “Bihar: Oitihaik and Sanskritik Parichay”

5. ‘one student one tree’-Saplings Plantation Programme

As per the directives of MHRD, GoI, and in order to facilitate the new campaign of ‘one student one tree’ undertaken by the Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, hon’ble minister, MHRD, a target was set up in front of NSS Volunteers to 1000 saplings within the university premises and outside the university boundary. The NSS volunteers have collected these all saplings from the forest department, Govt. of Tripura and also by their own way. The NSS volunteers have successfully planted more than 2500 saplings and these activities have been recognised by the Government of India by awarding Third Prize in a programme at New Delhi.

Few Glimpses of the ‘One student one Tree’ Prgramme

Rashtriya Poshan Maah-2019

As per the Directives of GUC, MHRD, GoI, NSS Unit of organised Rashtriya Poshan Maah on 30/09/2019 to propagate and generate awareness on “Hand wash and Sanitation” to maintain Cleanliness and Hygiene among the masses. The programme was organised centrally where NSS Volunteers played the main key roles to satisfy the objectives of this endeavour. This awareness campaign was also convened in the adopted villages of Tripura University.

Swachhata hi Sewa and Fit India Programme:

These two programmes were organisied on 2nd October, 2019 in the day of Mahatma Gandhi Birth centenary and this day is also observed as the foundation day of the Tripura University. A rally was organised within the university premises by the NSS Unit and one cultural porgarmme was also staged in front of Administrative Building, TU. Gandhi’s statue at City centre, Tripura University was garlanded.

Swachha Bharat Summer Internship Award:

Volunteers of NSS Unit, Tripura University were awarded first, second and third prize for their best performance in the Swachha Bharat Summer Internship Programme held from 15 June, 2018 to 14th July, 2018 in the different villages of Tripura and Bihar. First and third prize were secured by the groups of English department, Tripura University and second prize was given to an individual volunteer of Tripura University who worked outside the state. The programme was conducted on 31st January, 2020 in the seminar Hall of Tripura University in presence of Dean of Science and Dean of Arts and Commerce, Tripura University. The team and individuals worked in the 36 villages of Tripura and one village in Bihar on Swachha Bharat Summer Internship Programme where 15 villages were tribal dominated area. Two-Day State Level Workshop

Two days state level workshop was organised by the DSY, GoT on 7-8th February, 2020 for the Programme Officer, NSS Unit, Tripura. The programme officer participated in this programme and completed successfully. Inter Institutions Camp on Personality and Leadership Development:

The volunteers of NSS Unit, Tripura University participated in the inter institutions camp on personality and leadership development programme organised by Dept. of Youth and Sports Affairs, GoT, held from 16th to 20th February,2020 at Saheed Bhagat Sing. The students of NSS Unit, Tripura University was awarded the Best Volunteer of that programme. Volunteers also donated blood

Book Fair at Hapania,

More than 300 volunteers participated in the state level book fair at Hapania Industrial ground, Agartala, held on 26TH February, 2020. Students were assembled in the inaugural programme where honourable CHIEF MINISTER AND Deputy Chief Minister were present in that programme as the chief guest. This is one type of effort by the University to bring interest and aware the students about the new books of different national and international authors. The NSS Programme Officer has taken this initiative to motivate students about book fair and purchase of new Books.

International Yoga Day

NSS Unit, Tripura University has organised Yoga Day on 21st June through a Webinar. All the volunteers participated in this programme where Dr. Sabyasachi Dasgupta, Dean, Students’ Welfare, Tripura University was the Chief Guest of that Programme. Food Items Distribution by the NSS:

During lock down period of Covid-19, the NSS volunteers donated food items to the BPL families of the adopted villages of Tripura University. Food items were contained with 5 kgs rice and one kilo daal. This initiative was taken purely by the NSS volunteers. This work of food items distribution among the poorest of the poor is appreciable.

Integrity a Way of Life (Vigilance Awareness Week):

Students have participated in the programme on Integrity a Way of Life held on 28th October to 2nd November, 2019. For this purpose a rally “Vigilance Awareness Week” organised and participated by the NSS Unit Tripura University to generate awareness among rural students, rural people and common people. Near about five hundred students from rural schools participated in this rally.

To generate more awareness on “Vigilance Awareness Week” among the students and rural people, a programme was organised with UCO Bank to generate awareness among the students volunteers and another programme was also organised in collaboration with ONGC-Agartala in the adopted village named as Suryamaninagar GP to make aware the rural masses. Hundred twenty five rural people participated in this programme.

Digital India Campaign:

The Volunteers of NSS Unit, Tripura University is actively engaged to aware the rural students of the Adopted villages about the Digital India Programme of GoI. To implement the digital India Campaign in the all villages, the volunteers presented the entire matter with a small presentation using projector. Basically it is taught that how to open a bank account through online, how to collect any information with the help of internet and how an individual can prevent herself or himself from any fraud and fake news fake photos.

Constitution day:

Volunteers of NSS Unit, Tripura University have participated in the constitution day programme held on 26th November, 2019, at Maharaja Birbikram Satabarsiki Bhawan

Celebration of Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary:

Volunteers of NSS Unit, Tripura University has participated in the 150th Birth Centenary celebration of Mahatma Gandhi held on 1st November, 2019 at the Maharaja Birbikram Satabarshiki Bhawan, Tripura University. NAPDDR Programme (Drug Reduction):

The volunteers of NSS Unit participated in the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) organised by the National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India in collaboration with Tripura Prisons Directorate and Tripura University on 26th February, 2020 at the Seminar Hall No.2, Tripura University.
