• The New Year begins with positions open for 3 Law Enforcement Officers and 2 Community Service officers. We are diligently interviewing and recruiting to fill these positions. • On January 19th, MIPD worked with the City of Marco Island and Waste management to remove a derelict vessel from a Sunflower Court channel.

SIGNIFICANT CASE INFORMATION/INCIDENTS: Missing Person 1202 Edington Pl – Female subject reported missing from 3rd person reporter, reported being home later by family members. Closed Robbery 100 N Collier Blvd– 2 Suspects arrested after robbing an elderly resident and stealing his vehicle, CCSO K9 units concluded pursuit. Suspects arrested. SAO charges filed Sex Crimes 500 S Collier Blvd – 6 month delayed report of sexual battery from adult female victim with known member during family vacation. Active Investigation Battery 65yo 1001 S Collier Blvd – Girlfriend VS Boyfriend domestic disturbance with the intervention of a concerned citizen who was in turn battered by the boyfriend. Suspect arrested, pending SAO. Criminal Mischief 209 S Collier Blvd – Owner reported damaged to their vehicle, it appeared to be “keyed” overnight in the condo parking area. No suspect information, no video surveillance, no witness or suspect information. Closed Investigation Battery 1847 Woodbine Ct– Battery occurred after friends drinking near the poolside pushed a male (3) separate times into the pool, both parties completed sworn statements. Transmittal submitted to the SAO for review. Theft 701 Bald Eagle Dr– Theft of services from unpaid bar tab, reported party advised this has occurred in the past. Suspect arrested, pending SAO charges. Death Investigation 1488 Collingswood Ave – Deceased 87 year old female with family present, several known health issues. Pending Medical Examiner review. Trespass Warning 1800 San Marco Rd – Convicted felon located on active construction site, trespass warning issued. Case Closed Grand Theft 1003 Anglers Cove –A rental tricycle from Big Mamma's Bike shop reported stolen from this condo location. Suspect information, no video surveillance. Active Investigation Warrant 826 E Elkcam Cir– Adult female arrested for violation of county probation. Charges pending SAO Residential Burglary 1598 Caxambas Ct – Victim reported home “ransacked” no valuables reported missing, the rear glass door was shattered from forced entry. DATE: 01/18/2019 INCIDENT: Theft of Services Officers were dispatched to the business of Joey D’s in reference to a male that left without paying his tab. The male was located and arrested for Theft of Services and was transported to the Naples Jail Center.
DATE: 01/20/2019 INCIDENT: DUI An Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for crossing the center line several times. The female driver was arrested for DUI was transported to the Naples Jail Center.
DATE: 01/21/2019 INCIDENT: Death Investigation Officers were dispatched to a residence located on Collingswood Street in reference to a death investigation. Investigation continues.
DATE: 01/23/2019 INCIDENT: Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Property Damage Officers were dispatched to North Collier Blvd. and Yellowbird Street in reference to a single vehicle crash. The male driver who walked away from the scene was located and arrested for Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Property Damage and was transported to the Naples Jail Center.
DATE: 01/26/2019 INCIDENT: Warrant Arrest Officers were dispatched to the business of the Sand Bar in reference to a female with a possible warrant. The warrant was confirmed, and the female was arrested and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

DATE: 02/01/2019 INCIDENT: Death Investigation Officers were dispatched to a residence located on Leland Way in reference to a death investigation. Investigation continues.
DATE: 02/04/2019 INCIDENT: Possession of a Controlled Substance & Fleeing and Eluding Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in reference to witnesses stating that a male was trying to sell drugs to patrons at the business of Speakeasy. While attempting to flee from the Officers, the male drove his vehicle into a canal and was arrested for Fleeing and Eluding, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving Under the Influence, Tampering with Evidence and was transported to the Naples Jail Center.
DATE: 02/06/2019 INCIDENT: Possession of Marijuana An Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for not using headlights after dark. The male passenger was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and was transported to the Naples Jail Center.
DATE: 02/08/2019 INCIDENT: Electrocution Officers were dispatched to Rose Court in reference to a male who was on a ladder and was electrocuted. Investigation continues.
DATE: 02/08/2019 INCIDENT: DUI Damage to Property & Fleeing and Eluding An Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a reckless driver in the area of North Collier and East Elkcam. The male driver was arrested for DUI Damage to Property, Leaving the Scene of a Crash, Fleeing and Eluding and was transported to the Naples Jail Center.
DATE: 02/08/2019 INCIDENT: DUI An Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that struck the median near 400 South Collier Blvd. The male designated driver was arrested for DUI and was transported to the Naples Jail Center.
