CASE STATUS RULES All current circuit court case status will be ended as of December 31, 2016. The table below lists the new case statuses that will go into effect January 1, 2017.

Major Change: Case status will be used for purposes of statistical counting of cases. User should apply case status as needed as the case progresses. Users may manually apply a case status on CDACSTS.

OPEN MFO – MOF ORIGINAL Filing a new case. Also, a case that has been transferred MFA – MOF APPEAL from a different county. MFT – MOF TRANSFER CLOSED JUC0 – To indicate that a case has been disposed, MDFNC -- MOD FOUND NOT FIT consolidated, transferred, or dismissed. An Order to CASE CLOSED Close may be filed. A case may still be set for review or MDCO – CONSOLIDATED for monitoring after a closing docket code is entered. MDTR – MOD TRANSFER TO OTHER JURISDICTION MDJD – MOD JUDGMENT/DECREE/ORDER (does not trigger CLOSED for CR or JV) MDDM – MOD DISMISSED SET FOR REVIEW MSSD - MOD SET FOR REVIEW For certain case types: GD in probate, DN in juvenile, POST-DISP EJJ in juvenile; for when further court action is required on already-disposed cases.

CASE STATUS RULES MONITORING NO RULE - Must be manually applied Can be used on any case that the court needs to on CDACSTS monitor after disposition - i.e. payment still outstanding, person on probation, etc.

INACTIVE MSIA –INACTIVE A case in which the court cannot take action, typically MSFNI –FOUND NOT FIT CASE due to a defendant having absconded, the case being INACTIVE appealed, the case being filed in federal or bankruptcy MDRB – MOD REMOVED TO court, or the case being sent to arbitration outside of BANKRUPTCY the court’s control. MDRF – MOD REMOVED TO FEDERAL MDAR – MOD ARBITRATION REACTIVATED MFF – MANNER OF FILING If the case returns to the circuit's jurisdiction for a REACTIVATED closing or open status following inactive status.

SPECIALTY COURT MDTS – MOD TRANSFER SPECIALTY When a disposition/adjudication has an order COURT transferring to a Specialty Court, such as Drug Court, Veterans Court, etc.
