Entries:

PTTiming will be providing on-line entry services for the Sectional meet. Coaches will have until Tuesday, October 16 at 11:59 p.m. to enter on-line. www.pttiming.com

Changes:

(1) A school may make changes to its tournament roster up until race time. (2) A school may change its squad makeup from Sectional to State competition.

2012 WIAA Sectional Championships Division 1 – Section 1 Hosted by Menomonie High School Meet Information Timing:

(1) Primary timing will be done by Jack Moran from Apple RaceberryJam using disposable Bib Chips. Please pick up your bib numbers from Jack at the Finish line. Remind your athletes that for optimal use, these bibs should not be bent or crumpled. (2) Back-up timing will be done using place cards, please collect your place cards from your athletes, put them in your teams envelope and return them to the finish line as soon as possible.

Course/Facilities:

Course maps can be found online at http://mhs.sdmaonline.com/crosscountry

Course will be lined with a white line, but flags are the primary markers. There will be split marks at 800m, 1KM, 1600m, 2KM, 3KM, 3200m, and 4KM (Boys) and splits will be read to all runners at 1600m and 3200m.

The surfaces include grass, dirt, and base-course gravel roads. ½ inch spikes are allowed.

The starting line area and finish line area are Restricted areas, please remind athletes that uniforms must remain on in these areas.

Parking – Both Bus and Spectator parking will be in the South Parking Lot of the High School (1715 W. 5th Street)

Restrooms are available in the Pool/Fieldhouse areas. Portable toilets will also be available outside the fieldhouse and near the starting area (athletes only).

Results will be posted at the meet site, both outside on the feildhouse wall, as well as inside. Please remember that once results have been posted, coaches have 30 minutes to appeal the results before they become final.

Awards:

Top two teams will each receive a Plaque and 7 medals for the members of the team. The Top 5 individuals not on a Top 2 Team will receive medals. The Individual Sectional Champion will receive a medal.

Race Day Information:

Each team will have a packet of race day information to be picked up in the fieldhouse, including maps, garbage bags, extra pins, and final instructions. Please pick this up when you arrive.

Medical/Trainer:

There will be a licensed Athletic Trainer (Amy Arndt) on site, she will be located at the finish line area.

Concessions/T-Shirts:

There will be concessions available in the Fieldhouse.

Long-sleeve t-shirts will be available for purchase for $20. There will also be the option of customizing the back of the shirt for a fee. The design for the shirt is posted on our website (http://mhs.sdmaonline.com/crosscountry) we would ask that you show the design to your athletes and e-mail Adam Topper ([email protected]) with an approximate number of shirts your team would like to buy. This will help ensure that those who want a shirt will be able to get one. The sooner you get back to us on this, the more likely we will have enough for everyone.

2012 WIAA Sectional Championships Division 1 – Section 1 Hosted by Menomonie High School Meet Information Reminders:

Umpires - There will be course umpires on the course to direct the runners at intersections and turns.

Body/Face Paint – Any runner reporting to the starting line with body or face paint will be required to remove the paint before being allowed to race. Temporary tattoos are acceptable, however.

Inhalers – Don’t forget that if you have athletes that carry their inhaler during the race, they must have a doctors note to present to the officials prior to the race.

Pets – There should be no pets on the course, per WIAA rules. Please inform your fans that they need to leave their pets at home as they will not be allowed on the course.
