Sufi poetry is one of the greatest examples of syncretic culture in our sub-continent. Four great sufi poets – Rumi, Amir Khusro, Kabir and Bulleh Shah – were brought to life in a unique presentation ‘Rooh-e-Ishq’ on June 25, 2010 by Malhaar and Theatrewallas. At this unique presentation, art came alive through music, dance, theatre and paintings. All those of us in the audience on that day were blessed by a show which hid the fact that it was put together by amateurs. It was fulfilling to see that our heritage is celebrated by such shows.
