Statement regarding Government Business Shri Rajeev Shukla, Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and in the Ministry of Planning, made a statement regarding Government Business in the Rajya Sabha during the week commencing on Monday, the 11th of March, 2013. 12-17 p.m. 9. Motion of Thanks on the President's Address Dr. , Prime Minister and Leader of the House, replied to the discussion on the following Motion moved by Shrimati Renuka Chowdhury on the 6th March, 2013 and the amendments moved thereto— “That an Address be presented to the President in the following terms— „That the Members of the Rajya Sabha assembled in this Session are deeply grateful to the President for the Address which he has been pleased to deliver to both Houses of Parliament assembled together on February 21, 2013.‟ ” @12-48 p.m. All the Amendments moved were withdrawn by leave of the House. 12-50 p.m. The Motion of Thanks was, thereafter, adopted.

12. Special Mentions 1. Shrimati Gundu Sudharani raised a matter regarding need to set up CBI or Judicial Inquiry into the alleged irregularities in debt waiver scheme for farmers in the country. #2. Dr. Gyan Prakash Pilania raised a matter regarding concern over poor Government spending on health care. #3. Shri Ambeth Rajan raised a matter regarding need to take strict and necessary steps to curb the menace of begging in the country. 4. !Shri Basawaraj Patil raised a matter regarding need to re-frame rules to make medical education cheaper in the country. 5. Shri Tarun Vijay raised a matter regarding need to prepare a vision document for railway connectivity of the country to neighbouring countries.
