Terre di Canossa 2014 in three words: Roads, Landscapes & Lifestyle Roads, the winding roads on which this great challenge will take place: a tough classic regularity rally with 75 time trials, along a 550 km long course to be completed in three days, with a pre-war classification. Landscapes, the beautiful landscapes of an area rich with history: a journey that goes from the Emilia of the motors to the sea, crossing wonderful sceneries, cities of art, ancient castles, gentle and green hills, untouched mountain passes, charming hamlets, the splendid Versilian sea. Lifestyle, because there is still so much to do between a leg arrival and the start of the next one: an exciting enogastronomic course among great wines, typical recipes and the creativity of the best star awarded chefs, exclusive evenings in unique locations, luxury hospitality, relaxed times to better enjoy this fascinating experience. A race brought by Scuderia Tricolore into the Olympus of the events most appreciated by the greatest collectors of the world. A journey of sport, art, culture and taste, which this year will cross the provinces of Reggio, Lucca, Pisa, Massa and La Spezia. The organiser has planned for 2014 a Terre di Canossa rich with new features related to the landscapes and the project: this year, the race will be a tribute to the 100 years of both the town of Forte dei Marmi and Maserati, main sponsor of the event, which will celebrate with us the centenary, and to the 500 years of the walls of Lucca. For those who love competing, the time trials have been increased to 75, and they have been joined by 2 average speed trials (with a separate classification), which offer the perfect chance to train for the 1000 Miglia. Furthermore, the Eberhard Trophy has been confirmed by the main partner of the event, and its prizes will be four wonderful watches. The organising machine, that will be animated by more than 250 collaborators in the next four days, is warming up its engines for this event, which is based on 3 essential pillars, typical of our Emilia: · cars: a challenging rally, about 550 km long, with 75 time trials and two average speed trials; · landscape and history: a complete cross-section of the Italian landscapes, from the castles of Canossa, to the most impressive passes of the Apennines, the hamlets of the Emilia and the Tuscany, the most beautiful cities of art such as Pisa, Lucca and Pietrasanta, and the sea of the Versilia and La Spezia. · hospitality: typical foods and traditional recipes, interpreted by our best chefs. A great number of foreign participants from Europe and beyond, second only to the 1000 Miglia: Russia, Japan, United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland, Montecarlo… Highly prestigious cars which cover a long period of the history of the automobile, from 1927 to 1976, among which stand out the two jewels of the Historical Museum of Alfa Romeo: the 6C 1750 Gran Sport of 1930 and the 1500 Super sport of 1928. While the “format” and the total length remain the same, Scuderia Tricolore successfully planned a new route, with the “climb” of the Cerreto Pass, the time trials on the pier of Pietrasanta, the visit to the Navy Arsenal of La Spezia, the lunch in the centre of Pisa, the passage check in Torre del Lago Puccini, in front of the villa of the famous composer, or the leg arrival and dinner in the centre of the beautiful Pietrasanta on Saturday, a city of art known all over the world which also gives hospitality to artists of the calibre of Botero. On the other hand, some of the most appreciated features of the last edition will return: the passage through Piazza dei Miracoli, Pisa, the spectacular Pradarena Pass and the evenings worthy of the best glamour event: the Gala Soirée with the star awarded chef Gianni D’Amato and the musical tribute to Puccini and Verdi, the Beach Party at sunset with live music at the Bambaissa, the evening dedicated to the centenary of Forte dei Marmi and the Awards Ceremony in the historical Sala del Tricolore, where the Italian national flag was born in 1797. “We have many entrants, especially from Russia, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands, and many of them are friends of drivers who participated in the last two editions” says Luigi Orlandini, President of Scuderia Tricolore. “This means that our work has been appreciated. The “Gala Dinner” inside the Sala degli Specchi will be realized by the chef Gianni D’Amato, awarded with two Michelin Stars. Friday, 25 April the race will start from the beautiful Mediopadana Station of Reggio Emilia, designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, who is also the author of the three “vele”, the bridges which overlook the Autostrada del Sole (the A1 Motorway) and which form together the new aesthetical-functional complex and the characteristic element of the city. After the traditional challenge on the Bridges of Calatrava, the competitors will cross the hills of Reggio Emilia, running into the many castles wanted by Matilda of Canossa. After the usual passage near the Rock of Bismantova, the crews will arrive in Ligonchio, at the historical Power Plant and at the Rifugio dell’Aquila, where the lunch will be held: a terrace with a breathtaking view over the Ozzola Valley, in the heart of the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano Natural Park. During the afternoon, the cars will brave the daunting climb at the Pradarena Pass, after which they will drive towards Careggine, the Vestito Pass and then in the direction of the Versilian Sea. The crews will stay at the best luxury hotels of Forte dei Marmi. As usual, the guests will be welcomed by the Versilian sunset during the “beach party” at the Bambaissa, Beach Restaurant of the Augustus Hotel & Resort. The second leg, on Saturday, 26 April, will take place along the Tyrrhenian coasts, across the territories of Camaiore, Lucca, Calci, Pisa, Massaciuccoli, Villa Puccini, Pietrasanta. Particularly worthy of note are the centre of Lucca and the promenade on its impressive walls, the passage in front of the Certosa di Calci and the leg arrival in Pietrasanta, where the cars will parade, followed by an aperitif in Piazza del Duomo. This year, in occasion of this evening, the crews of Terre di Canossa will immerse themselves into the sophisticated and lively atmosphere created by the works of the Mexican sculptor Aceves, which will decorate the centre of this beautiful city of art.

Ciclistica Forte dei Marmi nasce nel 2010, quando un gruppo di amici appassionati di ciclismo decisero di costituire un' associazione ciclistica nel comune di Forte dei Marmi. Fin da subito la scelta del nome trovò tutti d'accordo: sarebbe stata “Ciclistica Forte dei Marmi”, in ricordo, e in omaggio a quella formazione ciclistica che negli anni 70, 80 e 90 si era ricoperta di gloria vincendo tantissime corse sulle strade toscane.
