  • Logo Bizzarrini

  • Experience the Name, 3Rd June 2021.Docx
BIZZARRINI – Experience the name A new film showcases the rare beauty, timeless sounds and exceptional dynamism of Bizzarrini’s original 5300 GT Strada, the centrepiece of its heritage collection 3rd June 2021 [LONDON] A thrilling new short film celebrates the evocative shape and sound of the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Corsa, showing the marque’s own example being put through its paces at the Alpine Proving Ground at Millbrook in Bedfordshire. With Bizzarrini continuing to refine the design and develop the meticulous manufacturing processes that will underpin the Bizzarrini 5300GT Revival Corsa 24/65, this storied original example made its British debut. This followed an extensive reconditioning after a long period of storage. Click HERE to view the short film or HERE to download the .MP4 or .MOV version. Just 133 examples of the Bizzarrini 5300 GT were known to have built between 1964 and 1968, the majority of which were for road use. Although no authority can be 100% sure of the number of surviving original cars, the company’s own heritage fleet includes five Bizzarrini sports cars and several historic supporting vehicles. With a full film crew and kit in attendance, including tracking vehicles, drone operators and stills photographers, this 1965 example is the star of the show. The aluminium bodied Strada model was originally trimmed for road use, with a slightly narrower body and a less Spartan interior than its racing counterparts, the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada was an exotic and exclusive sports car. The film showcases the brilliance and boldness of Giotto Bizzarrini’s engineering and Giorgetto Giugiaro’s design.

GRAND PRIX DE L’AGE D’OR, LAUNCH OF THE SERIES BY PETER AUTO! Dijon – It was high time for drivers, clubs and fans to head back to the track! The Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or marked the start of the series by Peter Auto. Yet again the meeting attracted a quality field with 230 cars entered for the races, and as for the collectors belonging to the makes’ clubs they arrived en masse with over 560 cars entered for the weekend. It felt really great to be able tao gather together again and share our passion! SUMMARY OF THE RACES Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th THE GREATEST’S TROPHY 40 minutes It was just after 9:30 when the cars in the The Greatest’s Trophy grid set off for the first race of the meeting in pouring rain. Leading the pack was the #68 Bizzarrini 5300 GT driven by Dirk and Leon Ebeling followed by Vincent Gaye’s Ferrari 275 GTB/C, #7. The #45 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ in the hands of Carlo Vögele started in sixth place on the grid and made a superb comeback up through the field: With fewer than two minutes racing completed he shot past the #44 Ferrari 250 GT SWB/C and slotted into third place. Of course, Vögele was aiming for the topmost step of the podium, but this was without counting on the tenacity of Gaye in his #7 Ferrari 275 © PhotoClassicRacing GTB/C who started from pole. But at almost half-distance Gaye made a mistake and spun, which cost him 12 seconds.
