ITALIAN AMERICANS OF AND FEBRUARY 2015 NEW YORK NEW JERSEY The largest Italian American population in the United States influences many vibrant and ever-evolving neighborhoods of New York and New Jersey. To celebrate the lives, achievements, and culture Italian Americans have brought to the metro area, WLIW21 is presenting Italian Americans of New York and New Jersey, a two-part series hosted by journalist Maria Bartiromo. Host Maria Bartiromo (left) shares a moving testimonial about her Italian-American heritage and childhood in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where her family owned a restaurant called Rex Manor that was named after the boat that took her grandfather, Carmine — a brick layer from Salerno, Italy — to America in 1919. Working at The Rex was a true family affair for the Bartiromos and an invaluable lesson for young Maria about the importance of having a strong work ethic.

KUAC PBS KIDS 24/7 SERVICES OVERVIEW PBS has launched new free 24/7 multiplatform children’s services. Provided by local stations, the free services include a new TV channel, a live stream on digital platforms and an interactive gaming feature, which will debut later in 2017. Together, these new services support KUAC’s mission to reach all children with high-quality educational content. These new services offer the very best child and parent experience, increasing access to award-winning PBS KIDS content, especially for those who need it the most, when it is most convenient. Starting June 5, 2017 KUAC will broadcast PBS KIDS shows 24 hours a day on KUAC 9.5 and offer a live stream, making it easy for children to watch their favorite series during primetime and other after-school hours when viewing among children is high. Viewers can watch the station-branded live stream through pbskids.org and on the PBS KIDS Video App, which is available on a variety of mobile devices and tablets. LET’S GO LUNA! Bios Joe Murray Creator and Executive Producer of LET’S GO LUNA! Joe Murray is an award-winning artist, animator and book author. He is the creator and executive producer behind the new upcoming PBS KIDS series, LET’S GO LUNA!, through 9 Story Media, set for release in fall of 2018. Joe Murray is also known for his groundbreaking 90’s Nickelodeon series Rocko’s Modern Life, for which he recently completed an hour special, rebooting the series for a new legion of fans. Hailing from San Jose, California, Murray is also the creator and producer of the highly rated Camp Lazlo which aired on Cartoon Network. With a combined experience of creating, directing, writing and producing over 100 hours of television, his work has garnered him two Primetime Emmy Awards, as well as, a host of international awards. He is also an award-winning independent filmmaker, with his animated films showing at Sundance, Annecy, Ottawa and other prestigious festivals. Murray resides in Southern California with his wife and four children, where he runs Joe Murray Studios. Erik Messal Cultural Anthropologist and Educational Consultant, LET’S GO LUNA! Erik Messal is an educational consultant with extensive training in cultural anthropology, experience in ethnographic fieldwork, and an M.Ed. in Multicultural Education. Para ello, analizaremos cómo esta serie ha supuesto una suerte de factoría de nuevos talentos y averiguaremos qué rasgos comunes podemos encontrar en estas nuevas sensibilidades que se han asentado en la animación tradicional para televisión. Con este objetivo nos valdremos, aparte de la serie de Pendleton Ward, de Steven Universe y Más allá del jardín para mostrar un ejemplo de dos animaciones creadas por miembros de la plantilla de Hora de aventuras. En INGLÉS: This work wants to show the stylistic keys and the thematic proposals present in the work of the generation of animators that emerged on Cartoon Network in the early 2010s, following the launch of Adventure Time that same year.
