According to Chairman of the Barbados Cane Industry and Director of the Barbados Agriculture Management Company (BAMC), Dr Atlee Brathwaite, the problem sugar cane farmers have been facing is the low prices they receive for their crops. “There are farmers already in the sugar industry, farmers who know a lot about the production of sugar cane. The problem with farmers at the moment is that the prices they get for their sugar cane, I would say is remu- nerative – it is below the cost of producing the sugar cane,” he noted.

FACTORY TOUR Our trophies tell their own story; four double Formula One™ World Championships, 4,300+ championship points, 50+ Grands Prix victories and counting – and all in a compressed time frame, quicker than anyone else. As we embark on a new chapter in our story powered for the first time by Honda, we invite you to join us on a journey through the beating heart of our operation. Formula One™ is a secretive world and we guard those secrets closely: very few people get to see what goes on behind the mirrored- glass walls of the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing factory. You can be one of those few. In limited numbers, we’re offering a truly incredible opportunity to go behind the scenes and tour our factory, witnessing the evolution of a Formula One™ car as it travels from concept to final assembly. The process operates like clockwork – it has to. Our tour is designed to present the inner workings of the machine, taking in the various developmental stages, all the way to the point where thousands of components are brought together in our race bays to create the Aston Martin Red Bull Racing RB15. Where do cars go when the season finishes? Until recently the answer to that question was rather depressing: most of our retired models were embalmed in plastic and stacked on shelves. Today, however, we do something rather more spectacular. MK-7 houses the RB1 through to the RB13, showcasing engineering evolution over the years but also the continuity of design that is threaded through our heritage.

  • Hamilton's Double-Six
2019 Hamilton’s double-six THE TALE OF THE TITLE m With a sixth Drivers’ title, Hamilton led Mercedes to their sixth straight double, eclipsing Ferrari in 2004. m By surpassing Fangio’s five, Lewis closed in on Schumacher’s record seven titles from 91 race victories. m 11 race wins raised his personal tally to 84, Lewis effectively wrapping up the title by the August break. m Even so, new rivalries, a hard-fought mid-field, and impressive rookies fashioned an exhilarating season. m Runner-up Bottas won four, but the burgeoning Hamilton/Verstappen/Leclerc rivalry added the real spice. m Ferrari sensation Leclerc, winner at Spa and Monza, conspicuously outscored Hamilton 7/5 for poles. m Leclerc, F1’s 108th race winner and Ferrari’s youngest-ever at 21, outshone Sebastian Vettel decisively. m Another error-strewn season by Vettel resulted in a single race victory and only fifth in the championship. m Ferrari endured a fraught season of missed chances, driver in-fighting, and suspicion over car legality. m Verstappen beat both Ferrari drivers to third in the championship with his three wins for Red Bull-Honda. m Honda’s first success since 2006 matched Ferrari’s three, but with 15 wins Mercedes supremacy reigned. m Without Red Bull, Renault won nothing, but did power Sainz and McLaren-Renault to ‘Class-B’ honours. m McLaren-Renault’s rediscovery of form reflected badly on Renault, challenged for fifth by Toro Rosso. m Instead of Ricciardo’s Renault, the only ‘non-Top-3’ podiums went to Toro Rosso (2) and McLaren (1).
