EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 1.1 INTRODUCTION Chandigarh University came into being in 2012 as a private University under section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956. The University established under the aegis of Chandigarh Educational Trust is multidisciplinary in nature and offers UG/PG/PhD programs in Engineering/ Management/ Architecture/Sciences/ Agriculture/ Pharmacy/ Biotechnology/Applied Health Science/ Education/ Liberal Arts/ Law/ Tourism and Hospitality/ Media Studies/ Fashion & Design/ Film Studies and Fine Arts. The campus is spread over 105.58 acres. The total built-up area is 451487 square meter. Chandigarh University has an enrolment of 20272 students with faculty strength of 1502 members. The University has established an IPR cell which has facilitated filing of 234 patents The University has established Technology Business Incubator (TBI) which is one of the seven recognized and funded by DST in the whole country.76 startups have been established through this TBI Research grants worth Rs. 18.66 crore procured. Consultancy worth Rs. 4.2 crore provided Established 25 Industry collaborated Labs on the campus MoUs with 203 foreign universities for student exchange, faculty exchange and joint research programme Students from all 29 states & 6 UTs along with 717 international students from 32 countries 64 All India NIRF Rank in Management and 117 in Engineering Won the overall trophy in 34th North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival 2018 Won runner-up trophy in 34th All India Inter-University National Youth Festival 2018 National award to for highest number of companies visiting for campus placements in a single academic year – Limca Book of Records -2017 Aspiring Minds - a recognized AMCAT examination conducting institution, has ranked Chandigarh University amongst the “Top 10% Educational Institutes for providing employability to its students” consecutively for two Years 2015 and 2016 Bagged the title of “BEST STUDENT FRIENDLY UNIVERSITY” from India's leading Rating Agency - Star Group -2017 Top 3rd private University as per India Today survey- 2017 5% seats with minimum 10% scholarship for wards of armed forces personnel 5% seats with minimum 10% scholarship for wards of teachers University has registered its own NGO (Youth for Socio-economic Transformation) for undertaking socially relevant services and adopted six nearby villages for comprehensive development Vision To be globally recognized as a centre of excellence for research, innovation, entrepreneurship and disseminating knowledge by providing inspirational learning to produce professional leaders for serving the society. Student can fill the CUCET 2021 online application form and can appear online with the flexibility to choose his or her date and time slot.
