BIOGRAPHIES Min-Liang Tan Min-Liang Tan is the co-founder, CEO and creative director of Razer. He directs and oversees the design and development of all Razer products. Tan was born in Singapore and resides in San Francisco. He graduated from the National University of Singapore Law School and was a lawyer before he created Razer with Robert Krakoff. Tan was recently elected to the board of the PC Gaming Alliance. In March 2012 he contributed $10,000 USD to the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter project, admitting it was to atone for pirating Wasteland when he was a child. (Wasteland designer and Interplay CEO Brian Fargo replied that Tan has more than made up for his piracy of the game.) Tan has been named one of "The 25 Most Creative People in Tech" by the Business Insider together with Jonathan Ive and Gabe Newell. He has also been ranked one of the top 40 most powerful people in gaming by Kotaku in their "The Kotaku Power 40" list. Robert Krakoff Robert “Razerguy” Krakoff co-founded Razer with Min-Liang Tan in 1998. What started as a company with two gamers in small California office has grown into a company of over 400 employees with offices in 10 cities worldwide. Krakoff graduated UCLA with a journalism degree in 1959 then spent the next 11 years as a copywriter with McCann Erickson Agency in Los Angeles. In 1971, Krakoff was Vice President of Marketing at Volume Shoe Corporation in Topeka. By 1975, Krakoff was in Omaha and the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Richman Gordman Department Stores. It was at Richman Gordman that Krakoff got his first taste of gaming, playing the early versions of Space Invaders, Galaga and Centipede. After leaving Richman Gordman in 1982, Krakoff worked as a retail technology consultant with companies such as AT&T, IMB and Activision before co-founding Razer. Krakoff, an avid tennis player, attends various gaming events around the world.
