Doug Addison [Episode 157] December 2, 2020 Prophetic Word: The Turning Point Is Here Doug Addison [Episode 157] December 2, 2020 Hey friends, Doug Addison here! Welcome to the Spirit Connection podcast. December 2nd, 2020. I’ve got a prophetic word for the month of December, and it’s a powerful one. Also, if you’re joining me on my website, DougAddison.com, you can chat in your questions. We’ve got the InLight Connection team. Also, if you’re on social media following me, when I go live you can put in some questions, as well. We track them, but hold on until the end because I’m gonna be doing some Q&A, and I’ll be talking about some special training that’s gonna help you get into 2021. And I’m real excited for what’s coming down right now. You can follow me on social media: theDougAddison- Facebook, DougTAddison on Instagram & Twitter and Doug Addison on YouTube. So Lord, we pray that You would open up the heavens right now. We pray for this prophetic word that’s gonna go out to the world. I just felt a really big impact. I heard the Lord say, “Brace for impact!” That is what I’m feeling. “Brace for impact!” Not impact in a bad way, but impact with something that’s coming from Heaven that’s gonna change things. This word was released to me just a couple weeks ago, and I felt like it was a huge impact coming that’s gonna shift things around for us. Copyright © 2020 Doug Addison and InLight Connection. All Rights Reserved. So Lord, we pray that You would prepare us for what’s coming, in Jesus’ name. Amen. I just wanna say that my wife Linda and I, we’ve been married 25 years today. December 2nd is our 25th wedding anniversary. I love you, Honey! And we pre-record this, of course, because we are on our celebration right now. A time away. Staying safe but in faith. And my wife really has done so much in my life and in the life of our ministry. We started InLight Connection 19 years ago, just a few years after we got married. But anyway, I just wanna say this. Here’s the word. It’s called “a whole lot of shaking is going on right now.” The prophetic word for right now is that there’s a turning point. The turning point is here. The turning point of the shaking is here. We’ve been in a time of shaking. The Lord said this is a Haggai 2:7. Now, you wanna look at Haggai 2. I’m gonna quote a few of these. But write down Haggai 2. Take a look at it because that’s what’s going on right now. The Lord said in Haggai 2:7, “’I will shake the nations, and what is desired by all the nations will come. I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord. [And] ‘the silver and gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty.” The Lord is using this great shaking that we’re seeing right now. That’s the shaking of the pandemic. It’s a violence in the streets and the shaking, you know, that we’re seeing in the entire world. The Lord said He’s now gonna use these things, and He’s gonna use it to shake open the things that we have desired. And it’s been a long time since we’ve had a revival and we’ve had an outpouring. God said this has been a year of cleansing and preparation. And if you look at Haggai 2:9, what’s coming is the greater glory. Haggai 2:9, “’The glory of the present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord.” You know, we desire … the desire of the nations comes, right? We desire to see various things. Well, first of all, the coronavirus. We’re grateful that things are being released out. I had released a prophetic word earlier this year that December 31st would be a turning point, and there would be a time—and I’ve actually 2 © Copyright 2020 Doug Addison and InLight Connection. All Rights Reserved. kind of forgotten about that—and that we’re moving into the new year. And there’s been a desire to see revival, to see salvations, to see greater glory, to see the presence of the Lord return, to see the financial blessings and to have peace. So, you need to catch that wave of peace that’s being released from Heaven right now. So, the word of the Lord right now for us is Haggai 2:19, “Is there yet any seed in the barn? Until now the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate tree and the olive tree have not born fruit. (But here’s what the Lord says,) ‘From this day forward, I will bless you.’” “From this day forward, I will bless you.” We have not seen the power of the Lord in an outpouring in a while. There’s been pockets of it here and there. And I see it flowing, you know, in my life personally, and I know some places that are seeing it. But overall, our storehouses on Earth have been depleted. But God is saying from this day forward, right now, mark your calendar! “From this day forward, I will bless you.” Now, this is not a blanket word for everybody. You have to press in to get it. You really will. But it will be worth it. So, get ready to receive downloads from Heaven about your financial turnaround. Breakthrough is here right now. I heard the Lord say Micah 2:13, “The One who breaks open the way will go before them; and He will break through the gate and go out. The King will pass through before them, the Lord at their head.” This is called a breakthrough anointing. A breaker anointing that’s being released right now. The Lord is opening the way for you right now for the new move that’s coming—in the season that we are entering into—a new season of breakthrough. But it will not look like the old. We gotta keep in step with what God’s doing right now. Get into God’s new mindset. Your breakthrough might be outside of your current thinking and understanding. In fact, it is! Your breakthrough is outside your current understanding. And the Lord’s gonna open this up right now. Isaiah 43:18–19, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Do you not perceive it? Now it springs up.” So we need to take a look at things. You know, we have a new 3 © Copyright 2020 Doug Addison and InLight Connection. All Rights Reserved. opportunity coming, and instead of focusing on the attacks, here’s what you need to do. That’s why I’m talking about the new. The Lord is releasing a way to operate, but we need to get into the flow to get it. So, it will be important right now to be flexible. Stay in faith, and stay at peace. Three things you need. Flexibility. Faith, just trusting the Lord. And peace. The Lord is gonna move. He said, “Peace, be still” to the storm. We need to say this right now. We’re entering into the season of provision. Deuteronomy 11:11, I heard it again. “But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks from the rain of Heaven.” We’re entering into a season of phenomenal breakthroughs. And we’re gonna see people being way more open to hearing from God. You’ll be very surprised what’s gonna happen right now. Not everybody, but there’s gonna be an openness to people wanting to hear the voice of God. So, watch for the financial strategies to come from Heaven because the storehouses on Earth have been depleted. I’ve been saying this for a while. We need to step into this time to get the storehouses on Earth filled back up. That means that we need financial breakthroughs to help to do things right now. Here’s the keys to overcome. Satan has been unleashing the storm after storm after storm to take away your peace. To get you to operate out of fear instead of faith. To divide us from each other. And here’s a key for this. The key Bible verse that will help you shift that negative spirit that’s trying to rule right now is found in Ephesians 4:31–32. I’m gonna read this in … Ephesians 4:31–32. I’m gonna read it in The Passion Translation. The Lord said we need to do this to shift the atmosphere. All of us need to do this. “Lay aside bitter words, temper tantrums, revenge, profanity and insults. But instead, be kind and affectionate towards one another. Has God graciously forgiven you? Then graciously forgive one another in the depths of Christ’s love.” So, we will need to rise above the storm of negativity. This is a swirl that’s trying to take us out right now. But God’s calling us to check our attitudes and break the agreement of the spirit of 4 © Copyright 2020 Doug Addison and InLight Connection.

A Pastors Prayer Our Heavenly Father: We seek Thy face at this early hour on our Lord’s great day. Above all else, we need Thy melting grace and a sense of Thy divine presence among us. Even now, give us the humility of faith and the inner assurance of Thy enabling power. Our own reserves seem very low this morning. But we trust Thee now for all we need. Even as our Lord himself admonished Peter so long ago, help us to “feed the sheep” entrusted to our care. Rather readily we detect many cares and conflicts that surround those we serve. But often we do not read their deepest needs except on their downcast countenances and by their wistful glances.

  • A Case Study of Appalachian Migration to Akron, Ohio 1900-1940
INDUSTRIAL VOYAGERS: A CASE STUDY OF APPALACHIAN MIGRATION TO AKRON, OHIO 1900-1940 DISSERTATION Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Susan Allyn Johnson, B.A., M.A. * * * * * The Ohio State University 2006 Dissertation Committee: Professor Warren Van Tine, Adviser Approved by Professor David Stebenne Professor Mansel Blackford ______________________________ Adviser Graduate Program in History ABSTRACT Between 1910 and 1960, nearly nine million southerners left the South for other regions of the country. The vast majority of the historical scholarship on this “Great Migration” has focused on the out-migration of African Americans from the South. “Industrial Voyagers: A Case Study of Appalachian Migration to Akron, Ohio, 1900-1940,” examines the migration of an often overlooked element of this migration—Southern Appalachians who moved to the industrial centers of the Midwest. Akron is a significant case study for this process. Migration to Akron began in the early twentieth century as the emergence of the rubber industry attracted thousands of newcomers who sought jobs in the city’s expanding factories. The duration of this in-migration presents the opportunity to examine this movement as it evolved and changed over decades. This study focuses on the regional economic disparities that encouraged out-migration from Appalachia; the ways migration streams became established between Appalachia and Akron; the experiences and reception of newcomers; and the evolving relationship between southerners and the labor movement in Akron. The southerners who arrived in Akron during this period were encouraged to move by Akron manufacturers who suffered recurring periods of labor shortages.
