With the advent of the Internet, the way people study has changed. Students of the ‘Google generation’ rely less on books and other printed sources, and more on information obtained online. Online information is remarkable, but it has to be selected, evaluated and interpreted with care. The European Documentation Centres (EDCs) may help with these tasks.

EDCs aim to provide guided access to EU information for access, training, and networking. They are also part of the students and academics. There are some 380 centres in the EUROPE DIRECT network which aims to bring the EU closer to 27 Member States, located in the libraries of universities and people through local actions. research institutes. The 2008 Golden Stars are awarded as part of the Europe for Citizens programme, and give official recognition to initiatives that showcase cooperation, effective working methods and tangible results in the area of civic participation. The winning projects involve participants from 22 EU Member States.
