E-mail: As 2019 drew its curtain, we can’t help but recall the tough and dreadful year that we [email protected] faced together with New Zealand. The terror attack in Christchurch mosque and [email protected] Whakaari/White Island volcanic eruption had killed and injured many including [email protected] Malaysians. We were also saddened by the fatal vehicle accident in Kaikoura involving a Malaysian family. We pray for the swift recovery of all those injured and may those who had passed be placed in higher ranks. We wish to extend our sincere appreciation to all the local frontline responders, and both the Malaysian and non-Malaysian community who had lent a helping hand and displayed generosity to the victims and their families following the tragedies. Although the High Commission undertook its best to extend consular assistance, the smooth process would not be possible without the tremendous support from all of you. Looking forward to 2020, we hope that it will be a brighter and happier year for New Zealand and all of us . To the Malaysian diaspora living in New Zealand, friends of Malaysia, as well as dear readers, we would like to wish you all a New Year that is filled with love, peace, joy, prosperity and success.
