DISCIPLINARY EVENTS

Custer was court martialed as a cadet in 1861 and again in 1867, when serving under Winfield Scott Hancock in Kansas. In the spring of 1876, Custer was involved in a Congressional inquiry into the conduct of the War Department. See:
