    Date:-15.09.2015 DETAILED NOTE Computerization and Modernization of 22+2 Border Check Posts in the State of Maharashtra on BOT Basis 1.0 Preamble: - The Government has decided to carry out Modernization and Computerization 22 border check posts of Transport Department,Sales Tax &State Excise Department under BOT Contract.The Government of Maharashtra has approved the proposal of Modernization and Computerization of Integrated Interstate Border Check Posts in the state of Maharashtra vide resolution no MVD-1201/CE149/TR-4 Dated 25.03.2008. Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd is a “Project Implementing Agency” for implementation of this project. The projects consists of acquisition of land near the boundaries of surrounding State Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh and procurement of equipments for these border check posts, with the provision for modern electrical instruments and appliances, weighing Bridges, Video Camera etc., which will be inter-connected with each other and with Central Control Room in Mumbai via satellite. Various articles for commercial purpose are transported by the tempos, trucks and tractors. Different kinds of taxes and/or fees are collected for transporting these articles by Sales Tax, State Excise and Transport Departments. The objective behind modernization and computerization project is to simplify and easement of the procedure at entry point of the state.
