INDICTMENT The allegation made by the Public Prosecutor of the Office of the Islamic Revolutionary Prosecutor of the Province of , and issued against the accused is as follows:

In the Name of the Most High

The Honorable Chief Justice of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of the City of Yazd. Based on the charges that will be stated in detail later in this file, the following individuals are under arrest: 1. Azizollah Zabihian, son of Asadollah, age 56, member of the Auxiliary Board, detained since 9 Mordad 59 [31 July 1980]. 2. Fereidoun Faridani, son of Goshtasb, age 58, member of the Auxiliary Board, detained since 31 59 [22 July 1980] 3. Nourollah Akhtar-Khavari, son of Keykhosrow, age 61, member of the Yazd Assembly in function of the secretary, detained since 29 59 [19 June 1980] 4. Abdol-Vahhab Kazemi, son of Hossein, age 86, spreading his belief, detained since 5 1359 [27 August 1980] 5. Jalal Mostaghim, son of Abdol-Vahhab, age 52, member of Assembly and Teaching committee (Propagator of the religion), detained since 29 Khordad 1359 [19 June 1980] 6. Mahmoud Hasanzadeh, son of Mohammad, age 41, member of Assembly, detained since 29 Khordad 1359 [19 June 1980] 7. Ali Motahhari, son of Hassan, age 44, member of Assembly, detained since 29 Khordad 1359 [19 June 1980] 8. Yadollah Lotfi, son of Ali, age 62, from Najafabad in Isfahan, detained since 3 Tir 1359 [24 June 1980] 9. Badiollah Sadatmand, son of Reza, age 40, detained since 3 Tir 1359 [24 June 1980] 10. 14. Mrs. Rouhangiz Khoshbakhtian, daughter of Bahram, detained since 31 Tir 1359 [22 July 1980] 15. Abdol-Vahhab Amiri, son of Jafar, age 59, resident of Sakhvid, detained since 8 Shahrivar 1359 [30 August 1980]

The accused [named] in numbers 1 and 2, because of the type and manner of [their] communication and their membership of the Auxiliary Board, were in direct contact with the Board of Counselors of the West of Asia, and ultimately with the Centre for the Organization of Baha’i Espionage in Israel. Further with regard to the true aims of the Baha’is, according to documents and evidence that are enclosed in this file, [they] are the same as the aims of the United States, namely spying for foreign powers, and uprising against Islam and the validity of the charges against them are clear and evident. It is hereby requested that a ruling [based on religion] be made. The accused [named] in numbers 3, 4, and 5, are all long standing active members of the Yazd Assembly, and have been functioning as a liaison between the National Assembly of (representatives of the Universal House of Justice in Iran) and the smaller Local Assemblies and their agents throughout the Province of Yazd. Also, their duties, that is to say the teaching activities and the misleading of Muslims, dragging them towards heresy and atheism, [are evidenced] by reference to the proceedings and minutes recorded in their files, and the rulings of the grand Ayatollahs. It is hereby requested that a religious verdict according to the standards and regulations of Islam be ruled against them. The accused [named] in numbers 6 to 15, are members of the Baha’i Zionist party, who under the deceptive pretense and cover of the [principle of the] ‘Unity of Mankind’, carry out the evil aims and intentions of their leaders. Committees for the education of Baha’i life, establishing unity and harmony…, … and tens of other names are principles that they use to mislead the Muslims. As such, and in consideration of the remaining contents of the file, and the confiscated documents and evidences in it, we request that a sentence based on the religious rules of Islam be fixed for them.
