PRODUCTION BIOS

JASON NETTER (Executive Producer) – Jason Netter has 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry and started his career working on the Emmy® winning live action and ground breaking visual effects series “Babylon 5.” His interest in digital effects led to his starting up the visual effects unit for the series in season 3. That visual effects unit grew into a $30 million division within three years. Based on the success of the visual effects unit, Netter was hired by the Chinese government in 1998 to build the first CGI production studio in Shanghai.

Kickstart Productions produced the live action film “Bounty Hunter” directed by Henry Saine, the Hallmark Channel Original Movie “Space Warriors” directed by Sean McNamara and “Sweetwater” directed by Logan and Noah Miller.

In addition, Kickstart has produced several animated television projects including “SheZow” and “Bone Heads.”

Samples of other notable Kickstart projects include the feature summer blockbuster “Wanted” via Universal, starring Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman and James McAvoy. Feature development of “Robotech” with Tobey Maguire, “The Red Star” with Joshua Trank (“The Chronicle”) attached to direct, both at Warner Brothers and “The Preacher” written by John august. Completed television projects include “Painkiller Jane” for Syfy Channel, “Wolverine & The X-Men,” “Speed Racer” and “” for Nicktoons, “Happy Monster Band” for Disney Channel, “Finley The Fire Engine” for Hallmark and BBC.

HEATHER PUTTOCK (Executive Producer) – Eh-Okay was established by Heather Puttock in January 2012 after working in the children's entertainment business for over 10 years. Eh- Okay’s ambition is to find, develop and produce exciting live-action and animated projects and is the driving force behind her new venture.

Eh-Okay is in development on the flash-animated series “Boomtown” with BBC and creator Matt Maiellaro (“Aqua Force Teen Hunger” and “Space Ghost Coast to Coast”), “Wyrd House,” created by Sean Covernton and “Jiro,” created by Cory Evans, both of which are original Eh- Okay animated series that will be ready for market fall 2013.

Heather set-up the Canadian expansion studio Kickstart Productions Canada, Inc. in 2007 and has overseen the numerous projects run through its doors since then. Some of those notable projects include “” (Nicktoons/World Event Productions), “Speed Racer the Next Generation” (Nicktoons/Lionsgate), “Dance-A-Lot-Robot” (Disney), “Happy Monster Band” (Disney), “Spaceballs: The Animated Series” (Berliner/MGM) and “Shezow” (Channel 10/ABC Australia). Puttock began her career in television in 2001, in Vancouver, when she started in animation voiceover with Voicebox Productions. She quickly learned the business of casting and voiceover and was part of the VO production on more than 300 episodes, 10 films and hundreds of shorts and promos for clients such as Warner Bros., Cartoon Network, Hasbro, Mattel and DHX during her four plus year tenure with the company.

An interest in having a wider role in production, led Puttock to join the busy Kickstart Productions, Inc. team in Los Angeles, where she worked in many other facets of the business that built her production foundation through such projects as “Wolverine and the X-Men” (Marvel), “Painkiller Jane” (Syfy), “Finley the Fire Engine” (Hallmark/BBC), “The Amazing Screw- On Head” (Syfy) and “Dragonlance” (Paramount Pictures).

NISHA GANATRA (Director) – Nisha Ganatra’s acclaimed debut feature, “Chutney Popcorn” with Jill Hennessy, won Audience Awards at the Berlin International Film Festival, Newport Film Festival, Paris International Film Festival and Madrid Film Festival and Best Feature Film Award at the Outfest Los Angeles and San Francisco Gay and Lesbian film festivals.

Her sophomore feature, “Cosmopolitan,” starring Carol Kane and Roshan Seth, premiered at the Southwest Film Festival and was selected by the Input as one of the top ten films shown on public television. It was the only narrative film chosen for this distinction.

Ganatra directed “Cake” with Heather Graham, Sandra Oh, Taye Diggs, Cheryl Hines and Sarah Chalke for Lionsgate Entertainment and First Look International Pictures. Ganatra’s work for television includes Steven King’s “Haven” for Syfy, the movie “Fast Food High” starring Alison Pill and she wrote “The Cheetah Girls: One World” for Disney. She recently completed “Beholder” for the ITV/PBS series “Futurestates,” a modern day “Twilight Zone” series starring Jessica Pare from “Mad Men,” Michael McMillian from “True Blood,” Rupak Ginn from “Royal Pains,” Michael Mosley from “Scrubs” and Elaine Hendrix.

Her latest feature film is being produced by Laurence Mark Productions (“Julie and Julia” and “Dreamgirls”). Ganatra has also been presented with Women In Film’s Original Vision Award, the Max Factor Filmmaker Award and was selected as one of Filmmaker Magazine’s Indie Filmmakers to watch.

MATTHEW HUFFMAN (Writer) – Matthew Huffman is a screenwriter living in California. He studied at NYU Film School where he was nominated for a Student Academy award. Huffman writes family films, specializing in the adaption of books into scripts. While writing, Huffman splits his time between Los Angeles and the mountains of Big Bear Lake. He lives with his wife, kids, and dogs. ###

JEFFREY ALAN SCHECHTER (Writer) – Jeffrey Alan Schechter is a WGA, WGC, Emmy® and BAFTA nominated writer and a Gemini award-winning producer.

Schechter‘s first credits were in action films such as “Bloodsport III,” “The Tower” and “Streetknight.” Turning to his love of family films, Schechter sold his spec screenplay “Little Big Foot” to Working Title Films and then did a rewrite on “The Amazing Panda Adventure” for Warner Brothers which led to him working on “Dennis The Menace Strikes Again. “

Schechter followed this with another rewrite, this time for Warner Brothers’ “It Takes Two.” Following this, Schechter’s spec screenplay “Stanley’s Cup” was bought by Walt Disney Pictures in a deal worth over a million dollars.

Schechter next rewrote “I’ll be home For Christmas” for the Walt Disney Company and wrote the TV movie “Brink!” for the Disney Channel and for which he was nominated for the Writer’s Guild of America Award for Outstanding Television writing. Schechter also wrote “The Other Me” for the Disney Channel as well as “Beethoven’s 3rd” for Universal Studios.

In television, Schechter has written dozens of episodes for series such as “The Famous Jett Jackson,” “Animorphis,” “,” “Totally Spies,” “Team Galaxy,” “Get Ed,” “Jane And The Dragon,” “” and “Urban Vermin.” He has been an Executive Story Editor on such series as “Freefonix,” “Di-Gata Defenders” and “Hot Wheels Battle Force 5.” He has written both DTV productions for the Care Bears, “Journey To Joke-A-Lot” and “The Big Wish Movie,” the latter for which he was nominated for a 2005 Writer’s Guild of Canada Award.

Schechter was an Executive Story Editor and director on the Hit Discovery Kids/NBC series “Strange Days At Blake Holsey High” (aka “Black Hole High”) for which his work was nominated for two Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Writing in 2004 and 2005, as well as a BAFTA Award for Best International Series. “Out Of The Woods” premiered on Hallmark Channel in 2006.

Schechter has co-created the TV series “The Average Jeff’s Guide To Canada” for Global TV, “I Am Not X-Og” for the Family Channel, “In Maya’s Opinion” for FRESH TV/YTV and “Overruled!” for Shaftesbury Entertainment/The Family Channel which premiered in September 2009 and ran for 3 season, which he won the Gemini Award for producing. He co-wrote the recent hockey film “Breakaway” and most recently finished the 4-hour miniseries “Shockwave” for Muse/Sonar Entertainment.

JOSHUA WILLIAMSON (Author) - Joshua Williamson writes comics, kid’s books and resides in Portland, OR. Williamson has written for a wide variety of publishers and titles including DC Comic's Superman/Batman and Uncharted, Marvel's Incredible Hulks, Image Comics with Dear Dracula, Sketch Monsters for ONI Press and Captain Midnight with Dark Horse Comics. His next creator owned title is GHOSTED with Image/Skybound Comics in July 2013.
