NEWSLETTER ARTICLES Music in the Mountains PICKING AND GRINNING (Friday)

Nothing says mountain culture like a guitar, mandolin, and stories told through song. Locally, it’s something we like to call “picking and grinning.” This Sunday night, acclaimed country musician and singer- songwriter Shane McAnally will be “picking and grinning” at the third annual Music in the Mountains concert.

The art of storytelling through song is a tradition steeped in these mountains, and at Blackberry Farm, we are excited to keep the tradition alive. Musgraves and McAnally have a gift for telling authentic stories through song. Their recently coauthored single “Merry Go Round” has been praised by Billboard for its unique and poignant depiction of the American small town.

This Sunday night, relax over a glass of wine after dinner at 9:30 p.m. in the Gambrel as you enjoy some fine picking that is sure to leave you grinning!

MUSIC IN THE MOUNTAINS (Saturday)

Kacey and longtime Nashville songwriter (and co-author of Merry Go Round) Shane McAnally will be performing this Sunday night at the third annual Music in the Mountains concert. If you haven’t heard of Shane before, you probably have heard one of his songs. Shane has written for artists such as , , Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes, , and recently wrote ’s hit single .

Music in the Mountains is a unique opportunity that allows you to be close enough to really see the artists play and get to know them on a more personal level. We hope you enjoy hearing their songs and stories over a glass of wine after dinner Sunday at 9:30 p.m. in the Gambrel!
