Tea - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 03-11-09 12:04 Tea From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Tea is the agricultural product of the leaves, leaf buds, and internodes of the Camellia sinensis plant, prepared and cured by various methods. "Tea" also refers to the aromatic beverage prepared from the cured leaves by combination with hot or boiling water,[1] and is the common name for the Camellia sinensis plant itself. After water, tea is the most widely-consumed beverage in the world.[2] It has a cooling, slightly bitter, astringent flavour which many enjoy.[3] The four types of tea most commonly found on the market are black tea, oolong tea, green tea and white tea,[4] all of which can be made from the same bushes, processed differently, and in the case of fine white tea grown differently. Pu-erh tea, a post-fermented tea, is also often classified as amongst the most popular types of tea.[5] Green Tea leaves in a Chinese The term "herbal tea" usually refers to an infusion or tisane of gaiwan. leaves, flowers, fruit, herbs or other plant material that contains no Camellia sinensis.[6] The term "red tea" either refers to an infusion made from the South African rooibos plant, also containing no Camellia sinensis, or, in Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other East Asian languages, refers to black tea. We also offer delicious sweets and savories and invite you to take a moment to relax: This is Chado. Chado is pronounced “sado” in Japanese. It comes from the Chinese words CHA (“tea”) and TAO (“way”) and translates “way of tea.” It refers not just to the Japanese tea ceremony, but also to an ancient traditional practice that has been evolving for 5,000 years or more. Tea is quiet and calms us as we enjoy it. No matter who you are or where you live, tea is sure to make you feel better and more civilized. In 1993, Reena Shah and her husband, Devan, acquired Chado and began quietly revolutionizing how people in greater Los Angeles think of tea.

  • Conscious Induction of Theta EEG Patterns by a Healing Procedure Final Report
Schmidt et. al. Conscious Induction of Theta EEG Patterns Final Report 1 BIAL Project 42/10 Conscious Induction of Theta EEG Patterns by a Healing Procedure Final Report Stefan Schmidt, Thilo Hinterberger, Anna von Haugwitz Claudia Orellana Han-Gue Jo, Christina Koller, Fynn-Mathis Trautwein, Kathrin Simshäuser January, 2012 Project Summary A new healing procedure termed ThetaHealing is making extraordinary claims regarding healing effects and healing mechanism. The method is propagating quickly but so far no scientific evaluation has been conducted. One of the basic claims of ThetaHealing is that the experienced theta healer enters via a special meditation in a so called ‘theta state’. According to ThetaHealing alleged healing effects are taking place in this special state which is also induced in the patient by the healer. The name ThetaHealing originates from the fact that this ‘theta state’ is correlated with strong theta rhythmic activity patterns (4-7Hz) in the respective EEG of healer and patient. In this ongoing we assess this claim in a dual EEG study where we have recorded simultaneously EEG from 10 experienced Theta Healers and 10 naïve patients. Our hypotheses were that (i) the healers taught in this method will elicit theta rhythmic activity at will in their EEG. (ii) there will be an increase of theta rhythm brain activity in the patient once the ThetaHealer tried to connect to his/her state to the patient and (iii) there will be significant more correlational patterns between the healer’s and the patient’s EEG once both are in the so called theta state compared to a control condition.

  • Drink the Tea & Read the Leaves the Joy of Reading Tea Leaves by Sharon
Drink the Tea & Read the Leaves The joy of reading tea leaves By Sharon Renae Intellectual Property of Sharon Renae, TLSEM, All Rights Reserved © Please do not distribute Reading Tea Leaves We goddesses love tea parties! Okay, this goddess does! When we had our new age store we had tea and tea leaf reading instructions available on Saturdays. It was fun and the participants enjoyed themselves. The important thing when reading tea leaf readings is to have fun. It is not about getting caught up in the accuracy or predictions it is about the energy shared between friends having tea and the fun of interpreting the leaves in the cup. I like to compare it to the Harry Potter movie Prisoner of Azbakan where they are in Divination class and Ron is reading Harry’s tea leaves – as says “You are going to suffer, but be very happy.” Although suffering is far from funny – it was funny and light to predict such a contradiction! Do it from a light frame of mind. If you read tea leaves in combination of interpreting and fun it can be quite enjoyable. In my current psychic development class I teach we have had so much fun with the tea leaves and having “tea” and the accoutrements we had a hard time moving on to something else! Through the learning and the play we have actually found there have been some accuracies and truth! Also called, tasseography, I had to know why it is called that and so I took 10 seconds to look it up and this is what Wikipedia said: The terms derive from the French word tasse (cup), which in turn derives from the cognate Arabic word tassa, and the Greek suffixes -graph (writing), -logy (study of), and -mancy (divination).

  • Middle Eastern Cuisine
MIDDLE EASTERN CUISINE The term Middle Eastern cuisine refers to the various cuisines of the Middle East. Despite their similarities, there are considerable differences in climate and culture, so that the term is not particularly useful. Commonly used ingredients include pitas, honey, sesame seeds, sumac, chickpeas, mint and parsley. The Middle Eastern cuisines include: Arab cuisine Armenian cuisine Cuisine of Azerbaijan Assyrian cuisine Cypriot cuisine Egyptian cuisine Israeli cuisine Iraqi cuisine Iranian (Persian) cuisine Lebanese cuisine Palestinian cuisine Somali cuisine Syrian cuisine Turkish cuisine Yemeni cuisine ARAB CUISINE Arab cuisine is defined as the various regional cuisines spanning the Arab World from Iraq to Morocco to Somalia to Yemen, and incorporating Levantine, Egyptian and others. It has also been influenced to a degree by the cuisines of Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, India, the Berbers and other cultures of the peoples of the region before the cultural Arabization brought by genealogical Arabians during the Arabian Muslim conquests. HISTORY Originally, the Arabs of the Arabian Peninsula relied heavily on a diet of dates, wheat, barley, rice and meat, with little variety, with a heavy emphasis on yogurt products, such as labneh (yoghurt without butterfat). As the indigenous Semitic people of the peninsula wandered, so did their tastes and favored ingredients. There is a strong emphasis on the following items in Arabian cuisine: 1. Meat: lamb and chicken are the most used, beef and camel are also used to a lesser degree, other poultry is used in some regions, and, in coastal areas, fish. Pork is not commonly eaten--for Muslim Arabs, it is both a cultural taboo as well as being prohibited under Islamic law; many Christian Arabs also avoid pork as they have never acquired a taste for it.
