STECF STUDY GROUP STECF EWG11-13 Development of the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) in European waters 16-20 January 2012, Rennes - France The meeting is scheduled from Monday 16th , at 2 pm, to Friday 20th at 4 pm. Travelling to Rennes and Agrocampus Ouest . By air The easiest way is by flying into Rennes Saint-Jacques Airport (http://www.rennes.aeroport.fr/ ) via Paris (Charles de Gaulle CDG) or Lyon. Then take a taxi to Agrocampus Ouest (sometime known as the “Ecole d’agronomie” and located in Rennes, “rue de Saint Brieuc”). There is no bus service from the Airport to Rennes downtown or Agrocampus. Rennes Saint Jacques is a rather small airport and there are only 3 flights from Paris each day (operated by Air France, starting from Paris CDG at 8:55, 13:10 (a bit late) and 20:00 the day before). Depending on your time of arrival in Paris, it could be easier to travel to Rennes by train. (You can also fly into Rennes via Lyon) . By TGV train From Charles de Gaulle airport, either : - take the train directly from the Roissy Charles de Gaulle TGV station (around 10 mn by feet from any terminal) to Rennes. The easiest way… but in the morning there is only one train at 9:48 (four trains per day). Journey time is about 3 hours. - or, take the special bus (“navette pour Paris”) from the airport to the train station “Gare Montparnasse” in the center of Paris (allow about 1 hour from arriving in airport to arriving at Montparnasse). Then, there are regular trains (every 30 minutes or every hour depending on the time of day) to Rennes. Journey time is about 2 hours 20 mins. Note that the total journey time is almost the same via Roissy CDG station or Paris Montparnasse station (around 3 hours). Going via Montparnasse is a bit more complicated (you have to take the airport bus), but there are much more trains to Rennes. You can buy your TGV ticket in advance at http://www.voyages-sncf.com/ From Rennes station: . take a taxi to Agrocampus Ouest (sometime known as the “Ecole d’agronomie” and located “rue de Saint Brieuc”). or take the subway direction J.F. Kennedy and stop at station République. Then take the bus n°4, direction Beauregard, stop at “Marbeuf-Brest”. Agrocampus is at 400 m, on your left in the rue de Saint-Brieuc. or take the subway direction J.F. Kennedy and stop at station Villejean University. From there, you can go to Agrocampus by feet (around 15 mins, 1km) … but you need a plan to find your way (see below). To find the meeting room on campus, look at: http://Halieutique.agrocampus-ouest.fr/PICS/plan.pdf We will meet in the “salle de réunion halieutique” in Batiment n° 4, first floor. Accommodation: I was able to book only 3 rooms on the Campus for the study group participants (rooms for visiting scientists, in the ”pavillon de passage”) and the price has sharply increased compared to last year (50 € per night, see: http://www.agrocampus- ouest.fr/infoglueDeliverLive/themes/vie-etudiante/Logement/rennes/pavillon-passage ) If you want to book such a room, send an Email to Sophie.Pasquier@agrocampus-ouest .fr, with a copy to me ( [email protected] ) before January 5 th . Please specify your date and approximate hour for arrival and departure. Most of you will have to book a room in an hotel. From the campus, it is easy to go down town Rennes by feet (15-20 mins) or by bus. You will find some hotel addresses for instance at : http://hotel.voyages-sncf.com/hotel-rennes.html . If you want to be down town and close to Agrocampus, the place des Lices (“Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Rennes” on the map below) is a good choice. Do not hesitate to contact me for any question. But take care: I will be out of my office from the 16 th to the 26 th of december. .
