Sarah turns the practice into a make-shift maternity room to deliver eight puppies from Uchi, the German Shepherd. Owner Andrew is on hand to help but there’s a problem, and Sarah battles to breathe life into a tiny puppy to try to save him. Alex has a passion for horses and a strong connection to the countryside, and has been called to check on a poorly pony. Nibbs seems to have a serious case of colic, a stomach condition that can be fatal. Alex is no stranger to the effects of this illness - and not just as a vet, but will Nibbs make a full recovery? The series has witnessed a week in the life of one of the largest veterinary practices in south Wales. Life-changing procedures have taken place but the caring of animals continues 24/7. Anwen Locke 2 HINTERLAND Monday, January 27, BBC One Wales, 9pm (continues at 10.35pm after the news) #Hinterland The fourth and final instalment in Hinterland - the major new detective drama series set in mid Wales starring Richard Harrington as DCI Tom Mathias. The body of a young student, Alys Thomas, is found in the centre of a vast expanse of marshlands by two young boys. She is dressed immaculately in a scarlet dress and seems to have been deliberately placed there. Mathias (Richard Harrington), struggling with his own demons from the past, becomes more emotionally connected to the case than is wise, a fact not missed by Mared (Mali Harries) and Chief Super Prosser (Aneirin Hughes). With professional and personal loyalties pushed to the limit, Mathias finds himself on an emotional knife-edge. Melfyn Clwyd Roberts 3 THE SCARLETS Tuesday, January 28, BBC One Wales, 10.35pm The Scarlets follows the Welsh rugby region through what turns out to be an eventful year - one of the most turbulent periods in the history of the domestic game, with unprecedented access to the players, coaches and the boardroom. In the third programme, after the shock departure of super-wing George North to Northampton, Scarlets are under pressure and have to make sure they qualify for the league play-offs. Ahead of them lie three difficult games, including a tough derby against Cardiff Blues. The region hopes this extra buzz will attract a large crowd, which would greatly help the business. But times are tough - Scarlets are running at a loss and the challenge is on to convert passion into profit. Rugby has been played in Llanelli for 140 years and the region continues to develop new talent through supporting and inspiring young players in the area. There are tough decisions to be made, though, including which young players will be offered contracts for next season. Caiff Gaynor wythnos arall adref o’r gwaith gan y meddyg ond mae Ffion yn amau ei bod yn osgoi’r ysgol ac wedi colli diddordeb yn y lle yn gyfan gwbl. Rho Ffion wybod iddi ei bod hi’n destun trafod gan ambell riant - a fydd hyn yn ei hysgogi i ddychwelyd? Pan aiff Colin i gael cyfweliad ar Cwm FM am ei hanes yn achub Kevin, mae ei weithredoedd arwrol yn denu sylw un o ferched y cwm. Mae’n syndod gweld Mark yn y noson wib-garu, a chaiff yntau sioc i weld rhywun arall o’r pentref yno. Jim’s over the moon to see Eileen returning from her holiday but his happiness quickly turns to shock when she tells him the wedding’s off. And when he attempts to build bridges between Eileen and her daughters, he’s disappointed when he realises how angry Eileen is with him for interfering. The doctor has given Gaynor another week off work and Ffion suspects she’s skiving and has lost all interest in school. Will letting her know that she’s the subject of discussion at the school gate inspire her to return? When Colin is interviewed on Cwm FM about saving Kevin, his heroic actions grab the attention of a specific lady from the village. It’s a surprise to see Mark at a speed dating night, and he is also shocked to see a familiar face there. Sioned Gwyn 5 .
