2 HINTERLAND Monday, April 6, BBC One Wales, 9.30pm #Hinterland

The last time we saw DCI Tom Mathias (Richard Harrington), his future was left hanging in the balance. But, against all the odds, he’s back in this new feature-length episode of Hinterland.

Mathias’ struggle to differentiate between his professional duties and personal feelings should have left his career in tatters, but Chief Superintendent Prosser (Aneirin Hughes) has other ideas, and DI Mared Rhys (Mali Harries) who has led the team in Mathias' absence, is forced to step aside.

An arson attack on an isolated farmhouse leaves a mother and child fighting for their lives and Mathias is drawn into a community of failing farms, festering resentments and long standing feuds. Suspicion falls on several in the community, including the victim's husband and a young man displaced by the closure of his farm.

What is it about this case of a mother and child that draws Mathias in, pulling him back from the brink? Could it be a connection with his dark and troubled past?

3 LIFE AFTER APRIL: WEEK IN WEEK OUT Thursday, April 9, BBC One Wales 9pm #bbcWIWO

For the first time, Coral and Paul Jones allow cameras into their home to show the reality of life without their daughter April - whose abduction and murder made world headlines.

In a rare interview, April’s older sister Jazmin talks about the family’s struggles and triumphs in trying to move on from every parent’s worst nightmare. This powerful programme reveals the diaries kept by April’s father during their ordeal.

From the moment they realised she was never coming home through to their campaign against online child abuse, which has taken them to Downing Street, they describe what has kept them going, and their determination not to let paedophile Mark Bridger destroy their future.

The family still live in Machynlleth amongst the community which supported them when the five year old was abducted. When the media went away, and the search for her body eventually stopped, the family had to learn to carry on without her.

LARKIN AND DALE’S TAKEAWAY REVOLUTION Friday, April 10, BBC One Wales, 7.30pm #LarkinAndDale

In this episode of the new series of Larkin and Dale’s Takeaway Revolution, the boys fly to Hong Kong in search of authentic Chinese recipes, and drop in on Larkin’s extended family.

We follow the MasterChefs as they enjoy Chinese street food, but both agree to leave the steamed fish heads, boiled pig intestines and chicken kidneys firmly off their own takeaway menu.

Larkin says: “Food is a massive part of Chinese culture. When you go out the thing you say to people is ‘have you eaten yet?’ That’s the amount of importance they place on eating”.

After talking their way into a two Michelin star restaurant, the Ritz-Carlton, they try their best to persuade the chef to give them one of his secret recipes. But have the boys bitten off more than they can chew?
