Nodwch Y Diwrnod! Mae'r Sebonau Yn Dychwelyd I 27.08.2020 Cathryn Ings Cyswllt Contact Ffôn Phone 03305 880450 Erthygl i’r Wasg Press Release Nodwch y diwrnod! Mae’r sebonau yn dychwelyd i S4C Canslwch bopeth, diffoddwch eich ffônau a pharatowch am noson o deledu heb ei ail ar nos Fawrth, 8 Medi ar S4C! Dyma’r noson mae’r operâu sebon Pobol y Cwm a Rownd a Rownd yn dychwelyd i’n sgriniau ar ôl misoedd i ffwrdd wrth i amodau Covid 19 orfodi ffilmio ar ddwy o raglenni mwyaf poblogaidd y sianel ddod i ben am gyfnod o dri mis. Ail-ddechreuodd ffilmio ar y ddwy sioe nôl yn nechrau mis Awst yn barod i ail-gydio yn straeon rhai o’n hoff gymeriadau ac i gyflwyno sawl sypreis hefyd. Mali Harries, sy’n chwarae rhan Jaclyn Parri, oedd un o’r actorion cyntaf i ddychwelyd i set Pobol y Cwm ym Mae Caerdydd, ac mae hi’n wrth ei bodd yn cael gweithio eto. “Mae’n fraint cael bod yn ôl - da ni wedi bod mor hir yn aros,” meddai Mali. “Ac mae teimlad twymgalon, gofalus a hapus iawn ar y set - mae pawb yn ofalus iawn o’i gilydd.” Yn ôl Mali mae pethau wedi newid yn fawr iawn ar y set er mwyn cadw’r actorion a’r criw yn ddiogel. “Pan da ni’n cyrraedd y stiwdio, mae rhaid cymryd tymheredd a dilyn y system unffordd i gerdded trwy’r adeilad i gyrraedd yr ystafelloedd newid. Mae gennym ni gyd ystafell newid unigol - dydyn ni ddim yn rhannu bellach. Mae’r wisg yn cael ei adael mewn sealed bag tu allan i’r ystafell newid. “Maen nhw’n strict iawn ynglŷn â props hefyd. Mae gennym ni bocs props ein hunain. Rydych chi’n gyfrifol am dy focs props - glanhau a sychu’r props a rhoi yn ôl yn y bocs ar ddiwedd y dydd. Mae lot o gyfrifoldebau gyda ni nawr - dim jysd actio.” Yn ôl cynhyrchydd Rownd a Rownd Manon Lewis Owen o gwmni Rondo, mae Covid wedi gorfodi iddyn nhw newid pethau yn sylweddol. “Yn wreiddiol roedd mwyafrif y setiau ym Mhorthaethwy yn unig, ond oherwydd y sefyllfa Covid – daeth yn amlwg bod y set yn rhy fach i ffilmio o dan yr amodau newydd yn enwedig gyda dau griw wrth y llyw. “Felly da ni wedi llwyddo i feddiannu adeilad newydd yn Llangefni sy’n rhoi ardaloedd colur, gwisgoedd a swyddfeydd ychwanegol i ni yn ogystal â bod yn fan i godi setiau newydd yn ystod y misoedd nesaf. Rydym hefyd wedi adeiladu setiau ar safle Rondo yng Nghibyn, Caernarfon. Mae tipyn o newid wedi bod” meddai Manon. Fel actorion Pobol y Cwm, mae actorion Rownd a Rownd wedi gorfod derbyn cyfrifoldebau newydd. Meddai Manon: “Mae’r actorion wedi bod yn arbennig o dda gyda’r weithdrefn newydd. Maen nhw wedi ysgwyddo lot mwy o’r cyfrifoldebau ar y set. Maen nhw’n gorfod gwneud colur eu hunain - maen nhw wedi cael gwersi ac mae llawer o drafod wedi bod gyda’r merched colur i sicrhau fod pawb yn hyderus gyda’r dasg.” “Mae trefn y gwisgoedd llawer fwy gofalus hefyd ac unwaith eto mae tipyn mwy o gyfrifoldeb ar yr actorion. O ran props, mae llai ohonynt a mae llawer o’r actorion yn defnyddio ffonau symudol eu hunain. Mae pawb wedi cydweithio’n galed iawn ers wythnosau lawer i gael y gyfres yn ôl ar ei thraed.” Mae tîm cynhyrchu Rownd a Rownd wedi penderfynu peidio dod a Covid i mewn i’r sioe. “Mae ‘na ddau reswm dros hyn,” meddai Manon. “Yn gyntaf, oherwydd ein bod ni’n ffilmio cymaint ymlaen llaw a’r sefyllfa Covid yn newid yn gyflym iawn, roeddwn yn poeni y byddai’n dyddio ac yn edrych yn chwithig ar sgrîn. “Yn ail, ro’n ni eisiau cynnig dihangfa o’r byd Covid. Ond yn amlwg da ni’n cadw llygad ar y sefyllfa ac yn barod i newid os ydy’r amgylchiadau yn newid.” Fe fydd sôn am Covid yn Pobol y Cwm. Meddai Mali Harries: “Mae’n rhan o’n byd ni yn Pobol y Cwm ac yn achosi rhwystredigaethau i’r cymeriadau. Felly da ni yn cynnwys y sefyllfa wrth fynd ymlaen.” Felly beth gall ffans Rownd a Rownd a Pobol y Cwm ddisgwyl yn ystod yr wythnosau nesaf? Meddai Manon: “Mae’r bennod gyntaf yn ôl yn cychwyn gyda damwain car ac bydd ambell i gymeriad newydd yn creu tipyn o argraff ar eraill. Hefyd bydd cameo bach gan seleb Cymraeg a bydd honno’n bennod hwyliog iawn. Rydym wedi gorfod addasu rhai straeon oedd wedi eu hysgrifennu eisoes ond mae’r penodau yr un mor afaelgar a da ni’n cadw’r hiwmor a’r ysgafnder sydd mor bwysig ar y funud.” Yn ôl Gwen Roberts, cynhyrchydd y gyfres Pobol y Cwm, swyddogaeth y sioe yw adlewyrchu y byd o’n cwmpas, a dyna’n union y byddwn yn ei weld yn y penodau cyntaf nôl ar sgrîn. “Ynghyd â’r genedl gyfan mae trigolion Cwmderi wedi bod dan glo ond mae caru, cyfrinachau a chambihafio yn dal i barhau tu ôl i ddrysau caëdig. Mae dychwelyd i’r sgrîn yn garreg filltir yn hanes y gyfres a dyma un stori sydd erioed wedi ei hadrodd ar stryd fawr Cwmderi!,” meddai Gwen. Bydd Pobol y Cwm and Rownd a Rownd yn dychwelyd i S4C pob nos Fawrth a nos Iau. Bydd cyfle i ddal i fyny gyda digwyddiadau Pobol y Cwm a Rownd a Rownd wrth i’r penodau olaf cyn i’r cyfresi dod i ben gael eu ail-ddarlledu ar S4C ar ddydd Mawrth, 1 Medi Pobol y Cwm am 8.00 a Rownd a Rownd am 8.25. Bydd y cyfan ar gael i’w gwylio ar S4C Clic. The soaps are returning to S4C Clear your diaries, switch off your phones and get ready for a big evening of television on Tuesday, 8 September on S4C. This is the night that the channel’s two soap operas Pobol y Cwm and Rownd a Rownd return to our screens after months away due to Covid 19 bringing filming to a stop. Filming on the two shows began back at the beginning of August, picking up the stories of some of our favourite characters and introducing some surprises too. Mali Harries, who plays the part of Jaclyn Parri, was one of the first actors to return to the set of Pobol y Cwm in Cardiff Bay and she is delighted to be back at work. “It is so great to be back – we have been waiting so long,” said Mali. “And there is a lovely, warm and welcoming feeling on the set – everybody is so caring of each other.” According to Mali things have changed considerably on set in order to keep members of the cast and crew safe. “We are temperature checked when we arrive at the studios and then we have to follow the one-way system through the building to reach our dressing rooms. We all have our own dressing rooms now – we no longer share. Our costumes are left in a sealed bag outside the room,” said Mali. “They are very strict about props too. We each have our own props box and are responsible for our own props. We have to clean and dry the props ourselves and put them back in the box at the end of the day. We aren’t just acting now – we have a lot of other responsibilities.” According to Rownd a Rownd producer Manon Lewis Owen, Covid-19 has forced production company Rondo to change things substantially. “Originally most of the sets were in Menai Bridge only, but because of the Covid situation it became obvious that the set was too small to film under the new conditions, especially with two film crews. “So, we managed to obtain a new building in Llangefni which provides areas for make-up, costume and extra offices as well as somewhere we can build new sets during the next few months. We have also built sets at Rondo’s site in Cibyn, Caernarfon. There have been quite a few changes,” said Manon. Like the Pobol y Cwm actors, the Rownd a Rownd actors have had to take on new responsibilities. Manon said: “The actors have been incredibly good with the new way of working. They have taken on a lot more responsibility on set. They have to do their own make-up – they have had lessons and there has been a lot of discussions with the make-up artists to ensure that they are confident in performing this task.” “We have to be a lot more careful with the costumes also, and once again much of this responsibility falls on the actors. As for props, there are much less of them and a lot of the actors use their own mobile phones. Everybody has been working together very hard in order to get the series back up and running.” The Rownd a Rownd production team has decided not to bring Covid into the show. “There are two reasons for this,” said Manon.

Stefano added it May 03, When John Archer died no music was played. Music artist and CCM pioneer Erick Nelson defined The Archers' role in the development of contemporary Christian music as representing one- half of a convergence: traditional vocal groups like The Archers got hipper while the hippie rock groups like the Maranatha bands got more mellow —eventually both evinced the polished, commercial sound that would be identified as stereotypical contemporary Christian music. Historians note an exception: China, where archers were so highly skilled and well equipped that they continued to prove useful in battling nomads on the open steppe. The history of the different families and the homes was useful. An elite archer does not grip her bow tightly, fearing what anxious jitters might do; she attaches it to a string that wraps around her hand, extends her arm forward, and holds the bow in place with the skin between her thumb and index finger.

GWASANAETH RHAGLENNI CYMRAEG Drama Ein hamcan yw cynnig cyfres ddrama estynedig (tri chwarter awr neu awr o hyd) bob nos Sul ynghyd ag o leiaf un, os nad dwy, gyfres hanner awr yn ystod corff yr wythnos, yn ogystal ag ‘opera sebon’. Llwyddwyd eleni i gyflwyno arlwy oedd yn cyfuno’r newydd a’r traddodiadol, y dwys a’r ysgafn – gan gynnwys cyfresi newydd sbon ynghyd â nifer o gyfresi a oedd yn dychwelyd. Cyfres ffug wyddonol oedd Arachnid (Elidir) gyda chryfderau mawr o ran gwaith cyfrifiadurol gwreiddiol, cyfarwyddo llawn dychymyg a stori gymhleth ddifyr. Roedd yn braf edrych ar ddrama ‘sci-fi’ Gymraeg a oedd yn argyhoeddi. Cymhlethdodau bod yn wraig ifanc â dyheadau cyfoes tra’n byw yng nghefn gwlad yn wraig i weinidog, oedd canolbwynt y gyfres ddychmygus Fondue, Rhyw a Deinosors (HTV). Denodd ymateb a oedd yn pegynnu’r gynulleidfa gyda llawer yn ei mwynhau yn arw iawn tra oedd eraill yn wrthwynebus i’w chynnwys a’i harddull. Cafwyd cyfres ardderchog o Amdani (Nant) - sy’n seiliedig ar helyntion tîm rygbi merched - a ddenodd ymateb gwerthfawrogol dros ben. Dwy gyfres arall boblogaidd a ddychwelodd oedd Iechyd Da (Bracan), a oresgynnodd newidiadau gorfodol yn y cast sylfaenol yn llwyddiannus, a Talcen Caled (Nant) sy’n llwyddo i gynnwys cryn dipyn o hiwmor er gwaethaf y cefndir teuluol a chymdeithasol tywyll. Cyfres yn seiliedig ar nofel Marion Eames am y Crynwyr ym Meirionnydd yn yr ail ganrif ar bymtheg oedd Y Stafell Ddirgel (Llifon/HTV). Denodd ymateb ffafriol gan wylwyr yn enwedig wrth i’r gyfres fynd yn ei blaen, er efallai nad oedd y gyfres drwyddi draw mor llwyddiannus â dramâu cyfnod eraill o’r un stabl.

  • S4C Authority Bulletin - March 2002
S4C Authority Bulletin - March 2002 OPEN MEETING - AMMANFORD The Authority held an Open Meeting on Thursday evening, 28 February 2002 at the Miners Theatre, Ammanford, attended by over fifty people. In addition to the Chair of the Authority, Elan Closs Stephens, the Chief Executive, Huw Jones, and the Director of Programmes, Huw Eirug, also took part in the discussion. Other members of the Authority were also present to listen to the discussion and to meet and talk to members of the public on an informal basis prior to and after the meeting. Amongst the matters discussed were: Use of English in Welsh language Programmes A member of the audience expressed dissatisfaction with the use of English in programmes such as Porc Peis Bach and Pam fi Duw? It was felt that if they were Welsh language programmes they should not contain any English. Another viewer expressed a different view by saying that there was a place for such use of English in some Welsh language programmes. It could be argued, for example, that the use of language in a programme such as Pam fi Duw? is a reflection of the society in which the programme is located. Another member of the audience claimed that programmes such as Pam fi Duw could also attract people who were learning Welsh or people who did not have complete confidence in their use of the language. Such programmes could therefore help to expand the audience base for Welsh language programmes. As a result, some people believed that it was important to provide programmes reflecting different levels of linguistic fluency.

  • Task and Finish Group on the Future Outlook for the Media in Wales
Media 16 Task and Finish Group on the future outlook for the media in Wales Response from Rondo Media INTRODUCTION AND INFORMATION ABOUT RONDO MEDIA Rondo Media welcomes the invitation to contribute to the work of the task and finish group at the National Assembly for Wales in order to inquire into the future outlook for the media in Wales. Rondo was established in April 2008, and it employs 60 full-time staff in offices in Caernarfon, Menai Bridge and Cardiff. The company produces a number of popular series, including the youth drama series Rownd a Rownd , the football series Sgorio , and the provision of events such as the Llangollen International Eisteddfod and the Côr Cymru competition. At present the company is working on producing a second series of the drama series The Indian Doctor for BBC1, a film version of Michael Sheen’s production of The Passion , the FA Cup match between Wrexham and Cambridge, the new youth drama series Zanzibar for S4C, the popular cookery format Pryd o Sêr and a documentary on the singer Wynne Evans for BBC Wales. With a turnover of £14.6 million, the company was ranked number 19 in a recent review of production companies in Britain: ‘Production 100’ by Televisual. 3 1. The current state of the media in Wales and how new technology and other developments are impacting on this, in the context of continuing concerns about the future of the Welsh broadcast and print media. The Ofcom Report on the communications market published in August this year gives a fairly negative picture of broadcasting, and offers evidence that raises serious questions about levels of funding and the commitment of public broadcasters to services in Wales: Although television viewing hours per head are higher in Wales and Scotland than the rest of the UK (4.5 hours a day on average in 2010) the total spend by public service broadcasters on television content being broadcast for the first time for viewers in Wales has fallen by 13%.
